What's a good way y'all are using to track sales of an e-commerce site?

I want to be able to track conversion of a media buy/text link ad, or traffic by each keyword through organic traffic. I'm not using Adwords for this.

Many ad networks provide you with a pixel you can put on the purchase confirmation/thank you page, so once they have completed path, purchased and land on thank you page the pixel will fire, and your ad stats should should show the conversion.

You should find details about tracking or analytics in your ad network, and I'm sure your ad network would be more than happy to address the details on how to go about this.

Hmm, what if its SEO traffic, or just traffic from a banner ad/exchange on websites (no ad networks). Any ideas?

Google Analytics actually has some pretty robust features for conversion tracking on ecommerce sites.

I've seen some implementations ranging from basic(just basic # of sales and conversion pages) all the way to really in depth tracking with conversion funnels, $ amount sold, product names etc.
