I know .COM domains are common and they are the in-thing but when it comes to SEO and ranking what is the main difference between .COM and .INFO?

I think its because .com is more commercially viable as its a commercial domain, where as an info is for an informational site. Also people usually think of .com as default when they type a url into their browser so its more easy to remember.

I think that's old fashioned thinking.

Way back when, that's how the net was
set up. .net was for network or something.

That all changed when the world was given
free reign on domains. .org no more means
organization than the man in the moon.

I suppose there are some organizations that
will still go for a .org.

I don't see anyone use .net much anymore.
      Used to be quite common.

As far as price, would that make .co more
      valuable? I don't think so. I don't get the
connection between price of a domain and
value for SEO. That's quite a leap. My host
regularly will sell multiple .coms for very
      cheaply.
