Rankings reporting software?

Hi,

Can anybody suggest good software for tracking rankings for lots of keywords on a number of different web sites?
I'd like to see things like a summary of how well keywords are doing, if a ranking is dropping for a keyword that previously ranked well, maybe even set a target ranking for a keyword and see how close it is to the target.

Thanks,
Phil

I definitely think that Market Samurai is the best especially for its pricing!

Market Samurai got locked out from Google data for some of their functions and have to resorted to for example alternative page rank systems.

The SEO Power suit seems good, the free evaluation version gives a fair level of functionality, you just have to hand transcribe results with file saves disabled in the review version, I thing their rank checker alone is about $99, there's some sale on the complete suit involving giving social likes.

There's a free Firefox rankchecker plugin as well.

I see Scroogle, another site relying on Google search data has shut down, also due to being prevented from using Google data.

You should expect rank checking queries to be made directly from your IP, Google will ask for a capcha and perhaps shut you down for a period for too many in a short amount of time, these tools typically have a slowness setting.

  • Yeah I remember about Market Samurai having problems. So they still haven't got that sorted yet? I seo quake for firefox, but leave it turned off unless I am using it or like webapex says you get shut down.

I tried the seo powersuit trial and did not continue because it would not let me save a project. Made it impossible to see if it was good for monitoring a number of web sites.
Can anyone comment on how well it does this?

Market Samurai does not mention anything about tracking rankings on their web site. Does it still do this?

    Thanks,
    Phil

Free Rank Checker: Google + Microsoft Bing Online Rank Tracker

You can track as many keywords as you like, on as many sites as you like. And there is an option to Export history, so you can see the trends for the keywords you are tracking. And it is free.

For MS, if you subscribe before 30th/April you will get 50 keywords free with them. More than 50keywords will cost you $5 and above. You can check the exact pricing on their blog. it is one of the cheapest subsription plans for rank checking.

Thanks for the info. So far I think I like the seo powersuite rank checker cos it lets me easily see a graph of keyword history.
Free rank checker looks great for the price though.

    Try Serpbuddy

It's a paid service though, but provides basically everything you are looking for.

Much better than Market Samurai as it updates every hour (well I mean the future market samurai)

I have used market samurai and haven't faced any problems. But, it is too tough to use so I move to SEO Powersuit. It's easy and effective tool.

Could always let wordpress handle your rank tracking for all of your sites. This is one graph for one website, over a period of time (no yo yo affect thank god for this site..). You can have any number of sites being tracked as well. One off payment helps

CuteRank isn't bad unless you have to deliver reports to clients. It's reports look like trash.

Powersuite Rank Tracker or Advanced Web Ranking are the two best desktop applications.

Personally I recommend Serpfox, it works well, is very competitively priced and they update their data more than I could ever want (4x a day).

There are other alternatives out there, but I haven't had good experience with them to suggest them to you (Market Samurai, AuthorityLabs, etc.)

The Best free one out there is SerpAttack's rank tracker

    - Check as many websites and keywords as you like
    - You can adjust depth to > 500 positions
    - Check ranking on Google, Yahoo and Bing
    - Very accurate

I think this is better than any paid rank tracking tools.

    Hope this helps,
