I would have thought it was better to post the best most unique content on my own site rather than article sites like hubpages , is that the right way of doing it ?

All content should be your best content, no matter where it goes because it represents you. Why you would want to put anything less than something great anywhere with your name is beyond me.

However, there is a difference between easy, breezy content and foundation content. That foundational content should be reserved for your site.

Definitely your best content, this will not only help you in having a solid foundation of beneficial content for the viewer but also for ranking with google, you want your viewers to stay as long as possible on your site and the beneficial content will assist you in keeping their attention

Thanks, but if I reprint the same content elsewhere won't I have duplicate content problems ?

Your best content should be all your content. Whether I am writing for my own niche websites or ghostwriting for someone else, I know each article is the best and could easily use them in any forum.

This depends upon the situation. If your site is new or getting less traffic then put the best contents on other sites like ezine, squidoo, hubpages etc. or if your are attracting descent traffic then add those contents on your own site.

That's not duplicate content in the bad sense.

    Article marketing is dead.

Instead of articles, publish a squidoo lens, make a new page
on a domain, publish a blog post, etc. Instant contextual
backlink, and you have increased your web footprint.

You should always post your content on your own website/blog first, wait for Google to index it, then post it to Ezine Articles, etc. This is article syndication and has nothing to do with duplicate content.

Duplicate content refers to material published more than once on the same website. All the knowledgeable, true 'article/content' marketers follow this pattern with enormous success.

I had never heard this definition of DUPLICATE CONTENT before. If this will be the case why anyone wants more than one article they can get one article and post them at all article directories and happily they will rank high due to UNIQUE content at all directories.

Spinning will be a wastage of time and resource than. ?

From what I know hubpages don't allow you to post links in your articles to promote your own site. I don't know then, what use could it be except that it may increase your site's reputation.

If you post it on your own site, you add value to your site. It will be good SEO for your site as you have greater keywords to your site, and people may build links to that content which will increase page ranking. It makes great sense to post it on your own site.

You will need to preety amazing content to generate backlinks naturally so always post your best content on your own site. However you should always provide valuable content on external sites also. Relevant and useful are the keys.

  • Best content should go on your own site. Youll retain more of your traffic that way and increase your conversion.

The content you post for user must be your prime content as its going to engage your user on your site. Rest all article directories, hubpages etc dont need your best content. You may see many claims of getting traffic by articles but in reality you are going to get a very little amount of traffic from those so i dont think that article directories deserves content of better quality than your own sites.
