Is there a PR update today? All of my tools are showing N/A or unranked for PR on every site searched. I'm not sure if this is a sign of a PR update.

Not that there's much you can do when there's a PR update. I was just wondering so I could check my domains over the next few days to see if any took a beating...

Sounds like a problem with your tools.

You guys might be right. I just found it odd that both SEO Quake and SearchStatus stopped working all of the sudden, when they were working earlier today.

Quake and other tools many tines shows PR n/a due to your frequent request to Google from your IP for page rank check. So just wait for sometime and request again with a little slower pace and it will work fine its not a Sign of PR update.

If your are looking from your Google toolbar then it is just a normal happening. Try to refresh the page or check again some later time.

My SEO Quake was disabled by the browser because of updates to the extension. Seems that SEO Quake is now asking permission to have access to your tabs and browsing activity, data on all websites, and data that you copy and paste. I'm starting to look for an alternative.

Were you notified of the updates or did they install automatically? I haven't been notified of any updates or had to restart Firefox because of SEO Quake.

Can't this be bypassed by not having your history remembered in Firefox?

I always set Firefox to never remember history because of the plugins. If I ever need to have cookies enabled, I just use IE instead. However, IP address data can still be gathered.

Apparently, the update installed automatically but Chrome automatically disabled the extension. Then Chrome provided the details of the changes and gave me the option to re-enable it.

SEO Quake has always collected the user data on sites, as well as the browsing history. But, to collect data on what I copy and paste??? That's too much, IMO.

I agree, that's too much. I wasn't even aware they could do that.

Do you know of any good alternatives to SEO Quake?

Does anyone know when the PR updates happen? Like when the next one will be? Or is it completely random and not scheduled?

There is a lot of gossip that goes around, but for the most part the updates seem to be random. The only ones who really know ahead of time are Google employees who work with PR updates.

    Nope, no PR update today.

If its something messed up with your tools, you can check the PR of a site at PageRankUpdates - Google Pagerank Checker

SERP Attacks is a great SEO tool.

Their official site is Free SEO Software Download - SerpAttacks (made by the same person who made Tweet Attacks, so you know what kind of quality to expect)

I have an affiliate link for it as well, they have a free version & a paid version (pro costs $) so if you decide to buy the pro version just let me know & I'll send it to you.

I would post it in here, but there is a 'no affiliate links allowed in posts' rule on WF.

My pr has been updated today for one of my sites! Unfortunately, downgraded it from 4 to 3. I did not see any other changes.

This may be a minor update for a few sites only which occurs many time due to some 301 redirects changes. There was no PR update as no other has reported it.
