Hi guys.

I'm hoping someone can clear this one up for me, as I'm not 100% sure.

If you use paid links, which many of us do, can this potentially get you slapped by google?

I've heard, that this can only happen if it's a ton of links, and very obvious.

I know it's against googles terms, but, if you wanted to get your competition d indexed, and you were an ass, you could just head on over to fiverr and spend around $20 on the link blastiest gigs.

So, I'm guessing that the worst is, google just ignores them... am I wrong?

I've heard that BMR users have been de indexed... is this true?

I've been doing a bit more research online.

I was getting paid link confused with paying for link building.

I guess this explains it better,

Google does not hate paid links. The BS that's being tossed around now
is just more proof that people DO NOT READ a friggin thing google
publishes. They just rehash the myth, keep it going, send poor
      folks into a frenzied stupor.

And that reply above? Complete lunacy like most of these recent
threads. That person is obviously an employee of google and
      has the inside scoop. BEWARE!

That video explains it well "thedog". Google has a team in Asia that handles all the paid links reports. They have ways of knowing whether you paid for links or not, such words as "featured" "partners" etc on the page your link is will give it away too.

Do not buy links. They will find you. Its best to do natural and quality link building over time.

Google has been after paid links for as long as I can remember. Hell, since before I even started online. I think your biggest risk is your links will eventually get deindexed. It's a short term solution and anyone using paid links should understand the inherent risk with the bending of any of the search engines rules. I've stuck to blog commenting/article directories/social bookmarking/web 2.0 as of late. Get Instant Article Wizard and you'll have content for days to utilize on these types of backlinks.

So you reckon, using AMR is ok? Or getting a fiverr article, video submission gig?

Are blog networks, such as article ranks ok to use?

I manually build all my backlinks but that's just me. I would rather use IAW to build 10 or so unique articles per page per week to my micro niche sites (that's what I build) than submit the same spun article to multiple directories with something like AMR. The more you automate the more you sacrifice quality, which in the end means more work (atleast in my experience). Also, my competition's backlinks simply don't justify the need for such mass submissions.

As far as blog networks go just look at everyone crying about their BMR posts being deindexed as of late. Yeah you can use them, just don't be surprised when all your links from a particular blog network get deindexed one day.

I don't see a problem with video submission gigs.

I have purchased 10 posts to linkvana here and there...and I don't expect those links to last forever.

I do purchase 2nd teir type backlinks to my web 2.0 properties and article directory articles.
