Overall, there's no way to hide your keywords from your competition.

You can't hide them on your website itself, because if you did then the search engines wouldn't be able to locate them and it wouldn't make sense to use keywords that the search engines couldn't find.

If you're referring to PPC keywords, there are lots of services online that actually allow anyone to see what keywords someone else is using for their PPC campaigns.

Good luck on finding a tool to hide your keywords. You would have better luck if you got PPC Web Spy and looked up your competitor's keywords to get the edge.

The only way to truly hide your keywords is by using strictly offsite optimization for your website, which includes link building and PPC. With the advent of PPC Web Spy, hiding your keywords is no longer possible for many folks. The only thing left is to only use your target keywords in the links pointing to your website, but even that can be tracked down by a determined competitor.

I think this is pointless. I understand your concern in this issue, but it is very unrealistic that you dig out some *fantastic* keyword that will never be found by other people. That is why from the very starting point it makes no sense to hide it.

My strategy is "catch up with me, if you can" - I am building so many backlinks that one needs to very persistent to catch up with me. For me - this works very nicely.

Surely, backlinks is not the only thing I do to rank well for the keywords, but the example with backlinks was important to show the strategy.

Be quick, be active, be persistent, be smart in promoting your site - most of the people will not be able to stand up to such high standard.

Yes there is a way to hide your keywords on competitors/competition. Here's how, Do not put your keywords on Meta Keywords (Meta Keywords are not too important on Major Search Engines nowadays), instead try to put/insert it on Title Tag, Headers (h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6), Meta Description, Footer. In that way you can hide it.
