[Advice Required] Restarting Afresh - On Very Limited Resources

Hi folks

Richard here.

I'm writing from Indonesia.

As the title suggests, I am looking to go into internet marketing after a 4 years hiatus when I made my living as a cab driver. However, things happened in my life that caused me to be back to square status.

And by posting my thread in this section of the forum, I think many of you would have guessed that I'm looking at going into adsense. Yes, that's what I'm looking into now. And I need advices.

Here's the resources (or rather limited resources) that I'm having to work with now:

1. A PayPal account with $0 and no way to load funds => basically useless unless I receive payments into this account;
2. A NameCheap account with about $14 in it;
3. A paid copy of Market Samurai;
4. An Asus netbook
5. Good working knowledge of cPanel based hosting and Wordpress
6. A 8 year's old Adsense account that I've neglected

Well, that's about all that I have for now to work with.

Here's what I intend to do..

My plan is to build up a blog / website in the finance niche. I know that it's a very competitive niche, but it's also a niche that is profitable (evergreen as well) and one that I can find resources to write about. I'm only considering to monetize it via Google Adsense.

The problems that I'm facing now...

Since I basically have no way of uploading funds into my PayPal account, getting a hosting account is out of the question since most hosting worth going for are paid and those free hosting are worth the trouble to go along with. Well, at least that's the idea that I get from searching the forum for recommended free hosting.

As a result, building the site on Wordpress platform is not possible as hosting is required. Plan B is to build my site based on Google Blogspot. Can anyone advise me is Blogspot still a worthwhile avenue to pursue in order to build an Adsense website? The main problem with this route will be, it seems, if I should decide to sell the site. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Blogspot blogs aren't exactly very "valuable" when trying to sell. That's my opinion anyway.

My focus for the next 2-3 weeks will be focused solely on building / writing content for my blog. I will not be adding adsense code to my site yet, until it is getting some sort of stable traffic.

Now, everything is still in planning phase. I know the tendency to be forever stuck in planning and not getting anything started. Trust me, I do. I don't have time on my side. Where I am, my monthly living cost is about $380 and this is the amount that I have to raise every month at least. I know, Adsense does not pay until 60 days later. I do have reserve to survive on. That's also why I am looking at selling the site as a last minute measure.

This is what I have in my mind so far. Intend to move the wheel in the next 2-3 days. So, if anyone can throw some ideas or help my way, I appreciate it.

Thanks for reading..

    Hi Richard,

    It sounds like Blogspot would be the best option in your dire circumstances. Forget about selling a blogspot site, you can not since technically you don't own the website nor the domain name. You are just a member in their community and subject to their terms and conditions.

    You can, however, use it as a launching pad to earn money that you can use to purchase you own domain name, pay for hosting and launch your own website.

    Perhaps you best option might be to get a job working for someone local or as a virtual worker at sites like oDesk, or Mechanical Turk. After you earn and save some real money, you can then invest it in a first class website project.

    Do some work online (write articles, whatever) until you can get your own hosting + domain.

    Blogspot is your best option. Monetize with it and monetize fast. Write content on it like your life depended on it, which it pretty much does. After you get a good amount of revenue, you can buy a domain name and hosting.
