Do PAD file submission still generate backlinks?

I know that this strategy is so old school but my question is, does it still work in 2012?

I have been doing some exe ebooks and I hope I am not wasting my time here. :confused:

    they do, but you need to make decent software to get the good backlinks. Screensavers, converted articles, and tool bars won't cut it.

    Yes, PAD submission is still very effective in generating backlinks... Moreover, this strategy helps in creating link baits. This is pretty old but an effective strategy.

    Yes, Pad submission are generating backlinks and are still very effective. I'm currently having some good results using pad submissions.

      What software or service are you using Seadragon - also when setting up your links when creating your PAD file are you able to insert html to create anchors ? or are you using full URLs in your submissions.

      I have a piece of software that needs submitting + backlinks are just a bonus for me.

      Also with the service you are using - what sort of stick rate are you getting ?

    PAD file submission is still useful for increasing the exposure rate of software and making backlinks for home site by submitting software pad file including software info such as home url, software description, etc. to as many download sites or directories as possible. You can manually generate a pad file and submit it and you can also use a tool to do that.
