Hi there,
Im new so go easy on me
I have what is probably a very silly question.
Do SERP's results change based on american state? I know they do in different countries US UK Canada Ireland etc. I always thought they didnt
Ive been using Google Insights recently and was looking into how i could make these differences in different state search volumes work for me

Yes, results change from location to location. Sometimes it depends on your location, and sometimes it depends on the keyword you're searching. You can use this FF plugin to view results in different locations:
