How long should you wait to start heavy link building?

I have a brand new micro niche site and I want to start doing some link building. I wanted to test out social bookmarking on fiverr.com but I'm wondering if it'll screw me over if the SERPs notice that I have 800 links right away.

Let me know what you think, also if you've had any experience with fiverr social bookmarking let me know as well!

    Hi erea77,

    Don't spam!

You can create any number of meritorious links you want, no reason to wait. However, if you are talking about web spam (and it sounds as if you are), then it would be best to wait at least 99 years or so be fore you start that.

Thanks for the advice and I know that you are right about it.

I have never done any link spamming before but kind of want to try it out to see the results. I was a moderator for a long time on myblogguest and usually build high quality links, but I mostly want to do it out of curiosity.

My question is mostly whether or not I'm going to get delisted for doing this so early.

You can start building backlinks from the first day even first second site is live. So dont waste valuable time and start linking from today.

Fiverr is not bad. But it would depend on your strategy. I would recommend you to build some organic backlinks first then start blasting fiverr gigs to the backlinks.

As dburk said dont spam. If you can then build quality backlinks.

You can start with basic stuff like social bookmarking and RSS feed submissions right away. I've noticed that building high PageRank links in the first month (like when BuildMyRank) was working usually got my site in trouble. I now wait one month before sending high PR links, but you can build organic links on blog and web 2.0s and blast those in the first week or two if you want. Do more research on link velocity, varying your link anchor text, and link diversity. Those are 3 crucial points in link building, more important than how early you start.

Sounds like great advice, I'll research those topics. Thanks!

The better question, why do you think you need 800 social bookmarks? There's probably 20 good and worthwhile social bookmarking websites.

Frankly, go after Fiverr gigs that offer less social bookmarks but on websites that actually matter and will produce a nice backlink profile for your website. You'll see a better improvement over the long run, than a short boost you'd receive from 800 crappy bookmarks.

You're right. I'm just interested to see what the results are from this particular fiverr. He's posted his service on WF as a SO
