Is this the begining of the end for SEO as we know it?

Since the beginning of this year, it appears Google has been aggressively waging war against the link building industry. Is their aim is to completely wipe out the link building industry? It appears Build My Rank, one of the popular link building companies has been fatally wounded in this war and may wind down their business completely. What does this mean for the SEO industry as a whole and what does this mean for affiliate marketers who use SEO to promote products?

    It means you use different link building methods. It also means (but this is nothing new) that you should vary your backlink profile and not rely on just one or a few methods.

    No change to the importance of SEO as a whole.
