I created my first website about 4 months ago about 'Fantasy Books' as its something I enjoy personally. I created the site, SEO, Links etc and have been sitting 3rd for 'Top Fantasy Books' and 2nd-3rd for 'Best Fantasy Books' for about 3 or 4 months...unitl 4 days ago...4 days ago my site vanishes from Google even though Ive made no changes to it in recent weeks. Ive gone for 60-80 visitors per day down to 1-3....any idea why this may have happened?

...i know the site isnt great and it was my first attempt but why has it just fell from its position to nowhere at all?

I just had a look and it's still in google so it hasn't been de-indexed

How did you get links? Google might have discounted them all

When was the last ime you added content? Keep your site fresh it keeps your visitors engaged and your site relevant

    Google dance? Google slap?

I've just checked and it is definitely still indexed with Google which is a good thing. The worst thing is to be de-indexed.

Continue to build links and it should come back. It happens to a lot of people.

It's a beautiful site BTW. Perhaps you should build more sites and not put all the eggs in 1 basket.

Really nice looking site Arran. The other's have probably hit the nail on the head with why it's happened. Google are constantly updating their algorithm and sometimes you'll get hit. Sometimes it will be temporary and other times it will be permanent.

I'd agree with the advice to keep building links and adding fresh content. I'd also recommend you start building an email list so you can start sending out newsletters and emails to your subscribers. Additionally, I'd recommend you start building a social presence on Facebook, Twitter and G+ so you have a base of fans on there too. By doing this you won't be so heavily reliant on Google traffic.

    Hope this helps,

    Tom

P.S. When I click your blog I'm getting the following message; "Not Found
Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post."

It is not unusual for search results to bounce around during an update. Give it a few days to settle before you panic.
