    I've tried Fiverr a couple of times and failed miserably (providers just not delivering) you could probably setup a contract on oDesk/eLance/etc and not pay until the set number of fans have been delivered. Or depending on your niche you could try Facebook PPC ads getting fans at $0.05-$0.10/ea

    Never buy "fans" always earn them. Bought fans are usually fake and will not help your site traffic much. A real fan will like your posts and spread your content, which in turn will attract new fans.

      I will suggest try to get real fans who can really share your info with other rather than fake likes. Fake likes can't help you to get sales or to share info. That will only change the no. of likes in your profile.

      I think payed for fans whether fake or not help to give a new site a bit of perceived credibility to new visitors. There's nothing worse than hitting a site and seeing the Facebook like box has "8" likes - bit off a turnoff IMO. As long as you don't overdo it and keep the number believable. There's a good gig on fiver "1000 us Facebook fans/likes" I've used a few times and he's delivered within 24 hours.

      Just as an update, I did go with Fiverr. I needed a small fan base so that my fan page didn't look ridiculous when people came to visit. They were able to give me real people (you can order specifically real people), now that the ball is rolling I have tripled what I bought on my own with real fans.

      I don't think I would have gotten ANY real fans if my page had two likes! But when you start with a base, people are more likely to like your page. I still recommend starting with bought fans.

    IMHO buying real facebook fans can be done best by using FB PPC, you can send them to a iframe with a Like Reveal and a CPA offer in it..

    This way you get REAL and active fans AND you get a decent ROI from letting them sign up for your CPA offer.

      This is the best advice I heard in this post. You definitely want real, active, Facebook Fans. The only way to do that is to offer them something. Once you have a real following you can market to them as well, with paid approaches other than FB PPC, you will not receive a following that has any value other than a number... like Yukon said.

    Fake fans/likes are a waste of money. But I guess everyone's different and it seems many are willing to spend money to make their numbers appear larger.

    So a piece of advice for people buying them...
    If you absolutely must buy fans/likes, why would you buy them anywhere else but Fiverr?

    Anyone offering fans/likes with their own service or website is just charging you 100 times more and then ordering it for you themselves on Fiverr anyways. Either that, or they use the same software as the people on Fiverr.
