I purchased a site about two weeks ago and it has been doing great.

It has been averaging about $0.31 CPC in those two weeks.

However, in the past two days, the CPC have considerable dropped.

Yesterday the CPC was $0.15 and today $0.16

Keep in mind that this is a fairly large site - 100+ daily clicks and 4000+ pageviews.

Should I be worried about this recent drop off in CPC?

Could be a weekend or early month thread.

If you still have access to the historical records for the site, check the performance of the site during the end and beginning of the months.

Depending on the niche, advertiser demand and clicks will vary.

Another factor, might be lower quality traffic or more traffic from countries which are not the US, Canada or in Europe.

Yet another factor, might be the site is now generating a large number of invalid clicks. Google might be discounting them and so that will affect the average CPC.

You need to inspect your reports and analytics thoroughly to come to an answer. Nobody on these forums will be able to tell you exactly.

Are you using adsense? I know some PPC Ad networks will downgrade your site, if your traffic doesn't convert into buyers for the advertiser. I think 7search is this way.

I would check your analytics and see where the majority of your traffic is coming from, and see if it has changed in the 2 weeks you owned the site.

May give it a little while and see if it recovers, before you panic.

That's always worried me about buying established PPC ad supported sites; I think a two day trend probably isn't enough to be concerned just yet but it is worth monitoring obviously.

The problem with buying sites is that very often the seller has a reason to sell them. Most of the sites are sold at the moment that their stats look the best. It is possible to push a site you own up in the SERPS, sell it, and then delete the links.

Buying sites is always a risk.

Just to clarify, I am using Adsense.

I only buy well established sites. This site had 8 months or so worth of consistent income and traffic.

I wouldn't worry just yet. Give it a week or two and see if it improves.
