My home page not appearing in SERPS

Hi all,

I've noticed a strange thing with one of my sites. My keyword is in the URL, but when you search for that keyword, my homepage does not appear anywhere (at least not in the top 300 positions) in Google. Other similar keyword searches are bringing up other pages in 20th - 40th positions, but never my homepage.

Has anyone else found this?

Thanks,

Jodie

Sometimes Google doesn't make the "relevancy" between your page and the keyword you're trying to rank for even though it is on-page optimized.

What you can try doing is pinging it (mass-ping or bulkping) and then socially bookmarking it using that keyword (stumbleupon, twitter, digg)

That means your website home page is doesn't have any relevancy with the keyword you have searched or your website home page doesn't have enough reputation to stay in the top of the search results.

Check your google webmaster tools account and see whether you home page is indexed or not. If indexed, then all you have to do is make your home page filled with quality, relevant and original content and then start off-page seo process.
