Non-Google Search Engines

Okay so I use the free edition of cuterank to see where my websites are ranking in the search engines. I have it set to check for my website in google, aol, ask.com, bing but I usually only show up in google and yahoo (always barely in yahoo 92-99) but today I ranked in ask.com at 84 for about 3 hours.

So my questions are these:

Why did I randomly rank in ask.com for a while?
Why do I not consistently rank in the other search engines?
Does this even matter, should I only worry about google?

and for the record my site right now is ranked 43 for the main keyword on google, so I rank within the first 5 pages on google.

Like a lot of 1990's holdouts, like the formerly known as askjeeves,
they bowed to google. As far as I know, ask.com has a partnership
    with google.

When people factor all the so-called 3rd party search places, not
engines, that partner with google, google's search results are much
    more than just from google.com.

Non-google search engines, true search engines, are a big,
    fat non-issue.

Although the wannabes are still crying, whining, whimpering, and
    holding on...

One could coin a phrase....if you aint on google, you aint _____ !
