Recently, I went full time. In the past two weeks I've been facing new challenges in areas such as self-starting, self-motivating, consistency, avoiding distraction, etc. Now that I've "made it" my mind wants to relax, when really it doesn't have those luxuries. So the past two days I kicked myself in the ass. And here is what I did.

This is nothing special at all, and I'm not claiming it is. This site will probably earn $100 a month or so. Nothing life changing. The point is that I know there are newbies out there lurking and thinking "man, I wish I could do this stuff." I know there are people who have started projects and given up on them. This is for those people.

Niche Site Speed Build

This is a speed build. I got excited about a TV show I was watching that is in a particular niche and I decided to ride that momentum train and bust out a niche site as quickly as I could, spending as little money as I could. <b>No Outsourcing! No Excuses!</b> I kept a mini journal, and here is what happened:

First a look at the competition...

The Competition:

I'm not going into any depth about this. I'll let you guys interpret it.

The Process:
  • Research Keywords - 20 minutes
  • Found EMD and Registered Domain - 3 minutes
  • Set up Addon Domain and MySQL Database - 1 minute
  • Uploaded Wordpress - 3 minutes
  • Configure Settings - 1 minute
  • Find a Theme - 10 minutes
  • Tweak Theme's CSS and PHP files - 15 minutes
  • Upload Plugins and Configure - 5 minutes
  • Add About, Pages, Privacy, Contact pages - 5 minutes
  • Write Homepage of 500+ words - 10 minutes
  • Create Link Tree for Thread - 5 minutes
  • Screenshot Market Samurai and Spyfu - 3 minutes

Right here we are only talking about 81 minutes, or 1 hour and 21 minutes. Now it's time to smash out the 18 other articles I planned for the site from topics I found while researching and writing the homepage. This will be the bulk of the time spent... If you are smart, you'll have already planned these out and outsourced them to someone else and simply need to post them (which you can also outsource). But alas, I want to do things the hard way to prove that it's not some roadblock or hurdle. Just get dat ass in gear and get it done! Here I go...
  • 18 articles later @ 25 minutes each = 7.5 hours

This last part was actually done across two work days. This could have all been done in one day, and I could have spent a lot less time on the articles if I wasn't watching CakesTV and Kick-Ass and The Expendables. And the final touches...
  • Adding pictures to the articles - 20 minutes
  • Slapping in Adsense - 5 minutes

For a grand total of... 9 hours and 15 minutes. You slack-asses out there need to quit making excuses. There is honestly no reason you can't manually, without outsourcing a thing, pump out a niche site a day. Do you really hate your job? I did. And this is how I recently quit and went full time. No excuses.

The Ranking:

Here is an image of the link build I plan on using. Nice and simple. No fancy stuff for an easy to rank term.

The Earnings:

I will report back about the earnings after it has sat at #1 for a little while. I can imagine it taking two months or even three. I want to take my time and avoid a sandbox and all that other fun stuff. I will come back though, so keep a look out. I have to now that I've wasted all this time formatting this post.

9 Hours and 15 minutes to build this site and it costed me about $5 bucks to make. Do this three times a week even for one month and you'll be sitting on 12 sites. Do it for two months, pump it up to 25 sites, then kick back and start backlinking. Give it another couple of months and you'll likely be knocking down $100+ a day. And that's just for sissy ass keywords. Slap a few $25 and $50 buck a day sites in there and you are talking about some serious money. Earning three and four times what the average American earns and doing it passively from hence forth. What are you waiting around for? Get this **** done.

    Great work.

I recently started doing this full time and I understand how you can slack off a bit, it is jet too easy.

Great work on your little project, personally the writing would take me at least twice that long (I WISH I cold slap out a 500 order in 10 min, it would take me up to 30 min, which is why I outsource all my writing.

There is also no limit to how much these sites could make, they may make $100 per month at one point but you can always write another 18 articles and rank for new keywords and double your earnings.

Keep us informed with your earnings.

Yeah, if I had the time, this is what I would be doing. It's especially good if you have some writing skills (come on, we all learned SOMETHING in school, surely?) - some will scoff and say you should be going for some higher-competition stuff, but the low-hanging fruit model is just as viable. This way you should be getting SOME long-tail traffic even without ANY backlinking.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise
