Domain name connundrum

lots of small niche sites or consolidate a few related niches into authority sites with more content

Imagine I choose the latter, well then say there are three or four sports-related niches that I know want to consolidate under one domain name.....well then the problem is

how do i find a domain name that represents all the related niches?

      surely lack of an EMD is a major bummer and will make it so much harder to rank well - see that's my problem with general authority sites, by their very nature it is incredibly difficult to get an EMD for them, I mean it's hard enough to get an EMD for a some obscure niche long-tail keyword so any way around this difficulty?

        Well contrary to popular belief....

        Your website will still rank just as well like this

        uksports/keyword1

        and

        uksports/keyword2

        Hmmmmm. Maybe because authority sites don't use EMDs.....

        Did you ever stop to actually think about that "conundrum"?

    You can make your domain thissiteisonlyaboutpancakes,com and it wouldn't make any noticeable difference when you try to rank for the same sports keyword with that domain or with an EMD.

    Not that that's a good idea, but you get the point.
