Dofollow link will make Google crawl to follow the link and index the page - Good for backlinks

Nofollow link will restrict your page from being crawled to your link.

    Hope that helps

Nofollow is an attribute value of a link, which tells search engines that the link should not influence the target-link’s ranking in the search engine’s index and should not crawl towards the target link.

Dofollow is completely opposite of Nofollow. To make a link Dofollow, you don’t have to use particular Dofollow attribute in the links. Search engine bots will crawl through the Dofollow links and PageRank juice will be shared by your site (that is what Google wants!)

    Example of Nofollow link:

    <a href=”http://www.warriorforum.com” rel=”nofollow”>Warrior Forum</a>

    Example of Dofollow link:

    <a href=”http://www.warriorforum.com”>Warrior Forum</a>

even if nofollow links don't give back to you in terms of backlinks have a decent percentage of them in your whole backlinks cause google expects "natural backlinking", got the message?

No follow links don't pass any PR juice. They are still crawled and are still considered by Google when calculating SERPS.

No follow just means that when Google crawls the link it doesn't pass any page rank through it.

These types of links are still very effective when it comes to SERP improvement so don't let these links put you off.

Also, it is important that your back linking profile has a mixture of do follow and no follow to look natural.

Also, at the very least, nofollow links will add to your overall diversity. And you may even drive some traffic from the links depending on where they're being placed.

it does not matter what kind of link you normally prefer because both links can send you traffic.

Yes Traffic! And traffic is one of the main factors to become successful online. A website without traffic is like having a store in the mall without visitors.

In other words we can say that Do-Follow Links are good for Human Traffic and SEO Traffic.

And on the other side, No-Follow Links are only good for Human Traffic which is still the best traffic you can have.

Dofollow links are those links which are followed by search engine bots and crawlers. They simply pass the reputation of the webpage(on which your link is present) back to your own linked web-pages.
The basic structure of a dofollow link is - <a href="http://www.yourlink.com">Your anchor text</a>

Now coming to NoFollow - These types of links are ignored by search engines bots and crawlers. As a result, they do not contribute much to your SEO efforts. But still they are clickable, i.e; they can still be a good source of traffic.
    The basic structure of a nofollow link is - <a href="http://www.yourlink.com" rel='nofollow'>Your anchor text</a>

I hope that helps! Best of Luck ;-)

There are many threads already started on this forum for this better you search them first before posting.

Nowdays no follow does not matter much. They do count by google but they did not pass page rank.

  • I think you have got the answer of your question already. If you are asking this question for general question, no problem. If you are asking it for SEO purpose, you should not bother about it. Any good backlink is useful and valuable to the search engines.

Do Follow all the way, unless of course you are getting a prominent link somewhere for direct traffic purposes.

indybail is right, dofollow and nofollow are both considered to be backlinks. However, the later does not pass PR link juice.

There is nothing like the former. Nofollow is an attribute that tells engines not to follow a link or not to pass link juice/authority.power and dofollow i don't know.
