      Exactly as above.

Analyse your backlinking profile with Majestic, OSE etc - go through and verify which ones are bad, acceptable and good; then ditch the Bad and the worst of the 'Acceptable' bunch.

The best way to remove backlinks is to either contact the SEO that put them there in the first place, seeing as they'll most likely have a direct POC with the site, or if you can't do that - contact the site yourself.

Might be worth noting that if the links are located at a blog network, the chances are they've shut their doors - so you'll just have to specify that when you send your resubmission request.

We had the unnatural links notice on three of our sites around 3 months ago - now we've removed those links, and resubmitted them in WMT, they're now ranking again.

Remove the irrelevant links and get links on relevant websites.

If you can't get them removed, then you are out of luck!!

If you do a reconsideration request, you really need to demonstrate the lengths that you have gone to in order to get the links removed. If Google can see you have really tried to remove them in good faith, then your reconsideration *might* work.

Why can they not be removed?

Because i don't own any of the sites they are on ! We are talking about massive links.

You need to email them all to ask them to remove them; document those efforts; and show Google those efforts - that is your only option ..... apart from giving up.

Massive links will 1. Take forever to remove and 2. Site will not rank when you remove that many.

Besides losing age of domain, I see no problem with starting over since you already have the keyword data.

When you redirect a domain using 301 redirection, all backlinks and value of previous domain will be redirected to new one and it seems you only changed the name of your domain and nothing changed. So if you want to optimize your new website and don't have unnatural link problem, remove that 301 redirect to remove those unnatural backlinks.

You have 301'd meaning that all the old "unnatural" links are now permanently rediercted as if they were allways pointing straight at your new site.

If you are going to start again then start again with a clean slate and then don't build bad/spammy/bulk/automated/blast/obviously bought links in the first place. That way you will not need the solution.

If you have an unnatural links notice and can't remove the links then start again.

Probably not the advice you want to hear but do you really want to put hours of effort into a site that google has flagged as cheating.

it's very hard to remove those backlinks for example if you used some blog network for backlink purpose the only way to get removed is to contact the owner of those blog network and request to links get removed as the owner is the only person who can log into those blogs and remove anchor that point to your site, but often time they usually don't respond, even if you do blog commenting again you can't remove those backlinks on those blogs that you post only owner can do that, I don't see is worth your time doing all that it won't help much if you are looking that after you remove links Google may lift up the penalty for "unnatural links" again if somehow some way you do remove all backlinks from your site you still can't control who links to you, other webmaster can send over 10K spammy backlinks to your site and you would be messed up again, if you had a site highly ranked then your ranking drop due to "unnatural" links don't waste your time trying to remove those links and hoping Google will lift up the penalty and your site may get back again where it was before, it doesn't work like that may advice to you much better buy High PR expired domain with the same niche that has kw in it add good content and backlink again don't even think doing with brand new domain as they get penalized very fast if you build more links to it...

I haven't gotten the Unnatural Links message, but I don't have Webmasters Tools on my blogs. Still, I used BMR on them, so I'm abandoning them and starting new sites with fresh domains. I'm not going to waste time working on the BMR tainted domains, but I'll still keep them up to see what happens.

If you want to delete all the BMR posts with your links, you just have to log into your BMR account and on the dashboard, you will see that they allow you to delete ALL your BMR posts so your websites no longer link to BMR blogs.

You don't have to start all over again if your only problem is BMR.....

delete the BMR posts then submit your site again...
