What software do you use for SEO?

Hello fellow warriors,

I have been studying SEO quite extensively over the last three weeks and am looking to purchase some necessary software to be able to perform seo related research and tasks.

For research and due diligence purposes, I wanted to see what software everyone uses for their search engine optimization efforts.

Some of the software I've come across are:

Market Samurai
SE Nuke
SEO PowerSuite (SEO Spyglass, Link-Assistant)
Keyword Elite

What software do you use?
What software is most cost effective? -I noticed that SEO PowerSuite can be quite costly and has an ongoing monthly fees.
Are there benefits of using one software vs another, or in combination?

Thanks for your feedback.

I received an email the other day pointing me to Push Button SEO. There's a long sales video and I'm almost convinced to buy, but after all the Google updates, I'm still just a little bit cautious.

From what I've seen, it look very good.

Totally disagree. If you spam you get a penalty, but if you know how to use a seo tool it works great.

I respectfully disagree. Spam is spam. You can create spam by hand or using a $127/month tool. If you promote your website with quality, unique content then Senuke is one of the most effective SEO tools to have in your repertoire. I've never had a site penalized and have been using Senuke X since it was released.

I only used white hat seo tolls like IBP and Webceo and both of them were great for me. and now i don't use them too because i found that manual work is better than these tools. Its my idea about seo tools. Now i only use Google webmaster tool and Google adwords keyword tool if we can name them seo tools

Many people make the mistake of trying to learn SEO from reading articles and posts on the Internet.

The problem is that 80% of the information on the Internet is either not up to date or just not effective anymore.

This leads to many hours of wasted time.

Although it is expensive, I would suggest IBP:

    Thanks for all your advice.

I signed up for a trial offer with Market Samurai and am so far really impressed with their software.

Right now I am going through their free training videos provided with the trial.

Also after researching some of the other tools, they can get a bit pricy with continuous fees and charges for search algorithm updates.

Is there a reason why Market Samurai offers all such updates for free?

    Thanks Again.

They offer free updates to attract customers this way, I guess that's clear. As for me, I'd rather pay for updates than get incorrect data or encounter a situation like this.

That's the reason I prefer SEO Powersuite. Also, if you want a lot of work done quickly and effectively, be ready to invest in some private lists as well.

I've tried SENuke, it's actually a good tool, gotta know how to use it, though. It works differently than SEO Spyglass, and I think the choice would depend on your linking strategy.

What I normally do is I use SEO Spyglass to locate dofollow link sources by analyzing competitors, then do manual link building. I'm largely white hat, so, like I said, don't know about you.

      Smileverse,

Check out Market Samurai - they actually offer a 12 day free trial period where you can test out the software for free. You'll find that using the software can make things easier for you and you'll get tools that can help you work more efficiently.

I'm on my second day of the trial and I like it so far.

It all depends on what you want first.

Do you need a keyword tool? If so, look into Keyword Elite, Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai.

Want a backlinking tool? Go with SENuke or Article Marketing Robot, something like that.

Backlinking tools can work great IF you use em the right way (not spamming useless articles with crappy quality across the Internet)

I find it amazing that so many people are in love with Market Samurai. I tried it for a few hours and realized that it is a joke.

You are basically paying for an interface or rather slow and expensive web browser that displays you exact same data that you can get from Adwords Free Tool.
    The cons:
    1. When you click the Research Keyword the "Fetching Google Keyword Tool data" message box appears for about a minute or so.
    2. What you get is 100 results unless you provide this 3rd party software with your Adwords account password. In which case you get 800 results.
    3. After a while you might get another message "Your computer is sending too many queries" so you will get your IP banned, unless you are willing to mess with temporary adwords accounts and proxies.
They justify the cost with added whistles and bells which I think are useless unless you get your keywords researched in the first place.
For me this doesn't qualify as fast, efficient, advanced and flexible tool.

Therefore I created my own advanced keyword tool where you can get over 10,000 results in less that a second for some keywords. You can also tell the software to only display long tail keywords (4, 5, 6 or more words) that have 100, 500, 1000 exact match searches, that cost $1, $5, $10 or more and have less than 1000, 100 or 10 pages in google found when doing "allintitle:" search.

I am looking for a few people to try my keyword tool and compare it to any other existing software that you might be using. Nothing to download or install, it runs from my webserver, therefore can be used from different computers.

    Anyone interested?

ScrapeBox is a great software if used correctly, I mainly use it with private lists that I purchase. I rotate about 20 IP's every week and I don't blast a ton of links maybe 10 max a day per domain. Since I purchase high PR lists the index rate is really good and I don't have to spend any time worrying about that.

You should know for what purpose you are using tool, if you are using tool for creating back links then their will be a penalty from Google. If you are using tool for competitor analyze or for analyzing your website performance then their will be no issue, so you should know for what need you are using such tools.

Totally agree, its like, you need to know why and how you are using a tool before you buy and use one. Its like, you dont buy a hammer and say "all this hammer will do is RUIN your house", well yeah if you smash all the windows with it! But if you use it right, and actually hammer nails, it can IMPROVE your house. Thats my take.

There isn't any software out there that can do the thinking for you.

If you do not know what you are doing the software available will either be useless or even damaging.

For example SE Nuke is a beast, and a great program, but if you do not know what you are doing and more importantly why you are doing them then you aren't doing yourself any good.

Like wise the keyword research tools are great tools, but if you don't know what you are looking for in a good keyword.

The best tools are the ones that help you do what you would be doing anyway, so before running out and getting the tools for the job get a good understanding of what the job actually is and then find the tools that will help you along the way.

Learning SEO like an expert takes too long so why spend both time and money doing something that won't make enough difference to matter? Let the professionals do the work and pay them on performance instead of promises, hope and hard work. SEO Services | RankPay™

You don't pay until you rank. Period. You know up front exactly what the cost will be and what changes, if any you need to make before they even get started ranking you for the keywords you want. Most websites are doomed from the start but nobody mentions that minor detail. Sellers assume your website is ready to be optimized just like you assume people who want gas cans filled up have cars or lawn mowers.

Ignored or deleted questions have the same answer: "ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies." Challenging assumptions makes more waves than friends because too many of the "wrong" questions can alter perception and make people stop and think instead of listen and buy.

We are supposed to assume "it takes money to make money" means spending money buying products and tools if you want to make any "real" money. What about spending time? Time is money too and [B]spending both TIME and MONEY leaves very little time to learn how to use anything like an expert, so of course, nothing seems to work. I don't know this for sure, but the few "real" success stories are probably embellished with innuendos and strategically placed words in sentences that make readers use their imagination to fill in the blanks.

Here's a good example: Affiliate Recon | Six Figure Market Intelligence It's brand new - I bought that before the public release - the advanced gold version upgrade too. BUT I'll probably end up canceling it because I don't have time to figure out how it works so I won't use it. ANYONE want to partner with me and spend time instead of money? "Instead" of money means spending time only - NOT both. Or, does EVERYONE already have more tools and products than they have time to use? Can somebody tell me because I think honest, hard-working people with more time than money to spend is the answer.

See this website? Weightloss On Zoloft That's for geo-targeted lead generation - another tool I haven't had time use. It takes all of 5 minutes to produce exactly what you see there, SEO optimized with a back-end ready to configure properly so everything works right, including that lost pop-up that won't stop going in circles. I would have more time but now I'm having more fun with Facebook Apps. LoveClaw Lovers Page on Facebook | Facebook

There are no affiliate links or anything like that - it's all stuff used for demo purposes while I figure out how to empower users with their own apps instead of paying to use and promote apps for someone else. The only problem is figuring out what people want besides little or no cost and no ugly banner ads.
