Google is killing them as quickly as they can.

Your websites are going to start losing links (if they haven't already)

Not to worry just replace them with other quality links

Still tons of methods out there for acquiring links

It's true. It's like genocide for blog networks these days. Google is now hunting for the babies to kill next.

Blog Networks are alive and well. I still use a number of blog networks that are just as effective as 6 months ago. The key is to avoid what every other Internet marketer is doing, which is using high profile blog networks. Look for smaller, private blog networks. If you join a large scale network, you run the risk of leaving a massive footprint and eventually all your sites will suffer when the links lose their effectiveness.

The thing is private blog networks are well.... Private

Finding them and getting into them is a lot easier said than done.

Even if they're still working it's only a matter of time, there is a footprint and there will continue to be one.

      Nobody can run forever!

So they're still the most risky types of backlink to have at this time

If you check you will see that many smaller Network were hit too.

Quite a few people are saying that google are not interested in small networks and are only targeting the high profile types. This is completely false

True, many small networks with 50 outbound links on 1 page, ofcourse they are hit as well, you can't even call that a network but instead a spamfest.

I don't think Google deindex all blog networks. Its not a good action at all and many important information will be deduct from Google database if it does it. Many users post important article on blogs and why should Google deindex all of them? Maybe some networks delete from Google database but i think important ones are still indexing.

Just use more natural methods to get your links, like social proof.

And provide quality content at least 1000 words long too..

BMR went down with UAW following from what I read. Use diversity in your defence and a variety of SEO methods.

yeah private blog networks are totally OK. BMR is gone. and yeah its true that soon most of them will be gone. in future all of the networks will be gone. But its really not a good idea
So what's your next plan of Link building?
