Why No Adwords for this keyword?

I have a single word keyword that is searched 851 times a day globally and over 500 times a day in Google. The competition is 3.400,000.

HOWEVER...when searching for this keyword in Google there are NO Adwords advertisements on the page at all.

I would guess this tells me no one is making money with Adwords for this keyword? But it is in a very well known and hugely popular niche.

Hmmmm...
Anyone want to speculate?

How much is google asking for it! as a bid and that may be one answer or you have found a keyword that is original also some people turn keywords on and off depending on times of the year cant say much more as i dont know the niche, it could be seasonal as you see.

    hope this helps!

Well, I didn't really have a website optimized for the keyword. So the quality score was probably not good at all. The upper range was 33 cents. I turned the ad off since my website was a redirect to the affiliate...which Google does not appear to like.
