Why use Market Samurai or any similar plugin?

When you can check competition threw Google adwords, and Google insights?

Keywords and description don't matter any more...

I would love to hear your position-reasons on why you use this kind of plugins!

I am asking because i saw many users-supporters of this kind of plugins.

I agree with you. I always went for the free Google tools.

It's just easier for some people. Myself? I prefer the Google Keyword Tool + a spreadsheet program. (I've shown an example in a few other threads.) Once you get the hang of things, the combination blows MS out of the water.

Sure. Took me about an hour to put this list together. In total it's just over 16,000 keywords / phrases. Once you get the hang of how the filters work you can do just about anything with it.

(Difficulty was pulled from the SEO competition module inside of Traffic Travis. I still do some manual research on the keywords I end up going after though.)

Those are some pretty damn long tail keywords for 9k searches a month... that's exact searches?

        Yup. Exact match.

If you're willing to spend the time digging deeper into the Google Keyword tool you can find a LOT of really good long-tails with very little competition.

Let's stick to those that have used the programs, and let them tell us WHY it shows better and more clear results!

First off Market Samurai is software, not a plugin. Secondly, Google AdWords and Insights doesn't show competition for anything that has any relation to organic search competition. It strictly shows PPC competition which means absolutely nothing if you are attempting to rank organically through SEO.

I own Market Samurai- and it's a great piece of software to have in your arsenal. It allows you to easily get a quick glance of the top 10 results for your search term - and does allow for some decent keyword research as well.

About the only thing Google AdWords tool is good for is getting some keyword ideas and checking CPC if you are going to buy ads.. nothing more.

Another great tool I use is Ultimate Niche Finder- I combine that with MS and some manual investigation and I've found some gems of keywords.

    Best of luck

    Well my 2 cents!
I own MS and sometimes use it. For what reason -- Easy to answer to save time.
But lately their rank function is not function very good. So I have practicaly abandon the use of it.

Its true their rank tracker is now limited and having the same mood with it not using it as often as i used to. I now use Traffic travis and google tools.

I'm a little surprised at how good TT has become in comparison to Market Samurai. I think it has surpassed it, personally.

As stated above, the free google keyword tool provides you with absolutely no real insight in to how much organic competition there is for a keyword so i don't really understand the question? I think you are under the impression that the competition bar is for search traffic and so you think that this is as useful as MS etc. But just to be clear, this is not the same thing!! This is adwords competition .

I know a lot of people who use MS and i have used it myself with some success. However, it is definitely not my favorite tool and it is far slower and buggy then some of the better tools out there. I would suggest SEcockpit first and then traffic travis. Both are great tools and there is actually a free version of traffic travis if you don't have the money for SEcockpit.

I have to say that Market Samurai rocks! You basically log into the software which allows you to do keyword research, domain checker, monetizing recommendation for your keyword e.g Keyword Weight loss, the software will tell you the monetizing products from either Amazon, Clickbank, paydot and CJ.

I particularly like the keyword research and finding available domains in one place rather than going through Domain Registrars looking for what's available.

Basically I use market samurai because it was a cheap tool and it implements some features that yes, they may be found available online for free but at market samurai they are all together and I don't need to spend much time to find that or this. Also, with market samurai I check my rankings, it automatically check them for me no matter how many keywords I have to look for so that really saves a lot of time.

Yes - MS had its hay days but TT has really surpassed it. The speed of MS has become a major concern for me. But with TT - no regrets what so ever.

I remember how much of a disaster Traffic Travis 4 was when it first launched. Looks like it's pretty good now, though.

But I did prefer the "classic" interface in TT 3.

Not sure what you meant, OP. Market Samurai is not a plugin, it's a keyword research tool.

The advantage of using it is, it also gives you valuable competition data that you wouldn't get from free tools like the Google AdWords keyword Tool.

I am using now Market Samurai demo, and Traffic Travis.

At Market Samurai SEOTCR has a bug (check for example "internet marketing", it shows...low competition! lol!)

At Traffic Travis on the other hand, on some keywords it doesn't get the data that Market Samurai does.

    That's my first impressions!

Google tools are always best but we have to check everywhere for the correct keywords.
Also take a look at wordtracker.com and keyworddiscovery.com

Aside from generating hundreds of longtail keywords from one seed keyword, another thing I love about Market Samurai is its robust back-link watch tool.

    Market Samurai is free.

If you sign up for the free trial, even once the trial ends, you still get to keep the keyword tool.

Just getting to grips with it at the mo.
