WHY YOU WILL NEVER MAKE $$ WITH PINTEREST

Got on Pinterest today (yes, I actually use it rather than just for work/posting affiliate links) and noticed something REALLY f'n annoying.

The same. ugly. lamp. posted. again. and. again. By users whose default pictures are broken or non-existant. With affiliate links. On boards with a bunch of boring ass lamps from Amazon. Now, a normal person might not notice this.. they might think "Hmm, why is the same lamp being posted again and again if it's not that great?" and move on. But an IMer can spot the signs.

Really? ... Seriously? Is this what all the WSO's touting massive profits with Pinterest are telling you to do?

"Hey, let's go spam Pinterest with the same ugly lamp on 50 different accounts and see if we can make money from it!"

NO. Stop it. You are ruining Pinterest, and you are going to get affiliate links BANNED.

If you want to make REAL money from Pinterest LONG TERM, stop posting ****ty content, and start making & posting REAL content that people actually want to see.

You will NEVER make good money with Pinterest (or anywhere else) if you keep throwing up the same garbage as everyone else & spamming feeds. Why does everyone think that they can game the system & make fast profits, living off of that? Long term strategies, people! Quit sacrificing long-term growth & profits by spamming people, losing trust, and spreading crappy content.

Also, you are going to get every affiliate marketer banned and ruin it for everyone. You will NEVER be able to make profits from Pinterest if you get affiliate links banned. Quit being reckless & stupid (and quit ruining Pinterest for me!)

There is so much more I could say, including how I have gained tons of followers by pinning real content and providing real value, and how it is impossible to gain a lot of real, dedicated followers by spamming the same crap all the time, but I'll just stop there because this rant is becoming a book. YOU WILL NEVER MAKE REAL MONEY WITH PINTEREST IF YOU DON'T STOP SPAMMING AND CAN'T LEARN HOW TO PROVIDE REAL VALUE IN YOUR CONTENT!!

I saw the same thing. They keep redirecting their CPA spam through google translate. Not sure why pinterest hasn't banned that yet, they are usually pretty quick about eliminating spam. Maybe they can't block it because it would block google images too? Dunno, but I agree they are ruining it for the rest of us white/grey hat marketers on there.

Dude, it's no different then twitter before it became a cesspool of bots and automated tools.

What lazy IM'ers don't realize is that all of these WSO's and Ebooks about Pinterest is the equivalent to people selling phoney maps and shovels to people looking for gold during the gold rush. They don't work, they sound good and look good but in theory they don't work.

All of the classic methods still work with everything. Pinterest, Facebook, and twitter.
Good, unique content, real relationship building, actual engagement - in short provide content or a product that isn't available everywhere, provide customer service and engagement, and you will earn money continually.

Everything else is short money. Unless you are in college and need beer money then short money is useless.

I agree with you hannah, I'm an affiliate marketer but this constant spamming and auto pinning is just wrong.
The pinterest is overcrowded these days with so called gurus and their affiliate links and black hat marketers.
I made a lot of money from pinterest but with honest content and without any spamming and my followers are the people that are interested in what I provide and products I have to show.
But right now pinterest is going the same road like the twitter, soon it will be just all spam and no valuable things, its sad but it's the harsh true.

I have a question: does WSO's work? I think people selling wso are only make money not the buyer. Most of the wso's are BS and full of crap. No offense.

As has been stated many times: if someone had an easy way to make money, they would use it. They wouldn't sell a blueprint to competitors to make their own jobs harder.

You have to weed out any WSO that makes an income claim, because income claims are totally irrelevant to anyone else, in other words it's a load of BS.

There are some useful WSOs, that actually help you learn how to do things related to IM, SEO, etc... just depends on what your looking for.

Thank you! I never had the urge to write something up about this pinning business myself, but I noticed the exact same things OP mentioned. Why not let your competitors waste time and energy and focus on something that does work mate?

"how I have gained tons of followers by pinning real content"

By real content, I hope you mean photographs you took or from affiliate schemes, and not my website.

And now Pinterest is stripping the Amazon affiliate links.

It's only a matter of time before the folks at Pinterest work out how to completely stop all affiliate links and over promotion. When enough users complain, they'll have to respond., then we all miss out.

They cracked down on it pretty quickly, I always saw that coming to be honest. The OP is absolutely correct.
