Question about one of my old domains

I have a 7 yr old domain that used to be an authority site, but I stopped working on it about a yr ago and rankings tanked a bit so just took it down as it wasn't earning anything anyway, but I want to start on it again.

Sites dns has been pointed to my domain host now for over a year, I just checked its backlinks and it still has over 10k backlinks, which I built up over a few yrs, but the index page is no longer indexed, I thought that it might be because its just now pointing to a domain host page, but my internal links are still indexed and still on Google, and they point to the same page as the root does, so why would they be indexed but main domain with the most backlinks and authority, isn't?

Thanks

I think your site is penalized or something like it happened for your domain. Because it has enough backlinks to be ranked and indexed and when the home page is not indexed, it shows an unnatural situation; something like penalty or similar issues.

Why would all my internal links be indexed tho?

Not sure why it would be penalized tho.

Guess their's no point in going back to it?
