I was just wondering after the huge amount of unnatural linking penalties that google has been hitting websites with. Have you changed your SEO strategy in any way and what form of linkbuilding will people be focusing on in the coming months ?

Thanks

Marc

The best kind of backlinks you can get are in-content/contextual links coming from high-quality content and aged domains, preferrably with good PR. That's what works and will work in the future, as well.

On the contrary, the worst kind of backlinks are profile/web directory links/links from "content" or "link farms" - those are low-quality and won't give you much SEO boost. They still may be useful for indexing, though.

My biggest strategy is writing quality content comments on blogs with low OBL and high PR.

This is exactly what I have been doing and will continue to do as it still works wonders for me.

Also for a good contextual backlink make sure you check out wikis they're good for diversity and gain PR at updates since most of their websites have a high root PR

Press releases are working better than ever so definitely make sure to check those out. You'll want a professional syndication.

I've also been having amazing success with social bookmarks.

I know someone said they got hit with the penalty from article directories. Although they're not working as well as they once did I still see success with them.

Then the good old Web 2.0 Link pyramids still amazing especially over long periods of time

    thanks sovereignn .
I also believe that social bookmarking still works but do you keep adding social bookmarking links to your home page, and just diversify the anchor text links, and to what limit ?

Usually what I do is whenever I post a new page I'll send it to the top tier social bookmarking sites just to get it indexed.

and when I'm using them to rank I'll send around 600 with 5 different anchor texts
