I have always been a passive reader of this forum and you have been great to my business. Today I needed to post here for the first time since Google is getting out of control.

There is only one thing in common about Google right now HYPOCRISY. After seen how they have been handling the SERP and deindexing sites at random they are acting like a team that is loosing on the last second of the game.

Google you are NOT and will never be Facebook, Sorry! Do not copy or scrape our favorite social network. You are the one telling webmasters do not copy other sites content and make your site stand out! The stop chasing Facebook, You are not or will never be Facebook!

Another lie is Original Content. This is my favorite of all. I have tested multiple times IT DOES NOT MATTER. Lets do a search for the keyword news. Google News is second above all the major news network in the planet. TELL ME CUTTS WHAT ORIGINAL CONTENT IS DISPLAYED AT GOOOGLE NEWS? NONE, ZERO, NADA. Lets go and search for the keyword finance. First in the SERP Google Finance. AGAIN TELL ME CUTTS WHAT ORIGINAL CONTENT IS DISPLAYED OR PRODUCED BY GOOGLE! None, Nada, Zero. So how can you tell me that content is the holly grail of ranking in Google when your company is not doing it?

Google scrape news, articles, etc and then sell it to the clients. Google copied web browsers Chrome and paid bloggers for links! Google copied Facebook with Google +! What I call a failure plus!

The fact of the matter is that now you are trying to punish webmasters for marketing. WHY? It is not marketing buying an ad on TV? Why it is bad to get links to our sites?

Sorry but it seems that Google is loosing its mind. The CEO is lost and focus on the stock and not its product. I have compared Bing to Google for most search terms and I can say that Bing produce and give me the answer that I have been looking.
#google #hypocrisy

I have felt this way about google for a long time. I dont think people realize just how weak google really is if you look at them and the emerging social networking technologies.

At this point it is only the fanboys who do not realize that google is nothing more than any other mega corporation that thinks money first everything else second.

I love when people say google is concerned about high quality serps or their customers will leave. Yeah the same as mcdonalds is concerned about serving high quality hamburgers or wal-mart is concerned about selling high quality goods or their customers will leave too LOL.

You forget one important thing. When google publishes stuff
like you mention, they are targeting scammers, spammers,
schemers, shmoozers, and a lot of the WF ilk. They are
NOT talking about normal people, going about their
normal internet lives, publishing normal websites.

They are a company. A business. They keep piling up
record profits. They don't care about you or the horse
you rode in on. Why people think they do or should,
      is just idiocy.

Why would google care about someone who:

Does keyword research. Gee, what keyword can I
shmooze a site that google will love?

Makes a bonehead WP site with some EMD based
on that keyword. Started ONLY to get traffic for that
keyword because they think it's a road to riches.

Why should google give a rat's hat about sites like
      that?

If you keep choosing to make sites like that, you
      get what you deserve.

How about thinking of a topic that you actually KNOW
something about, and can nurture it along and be
a valuable resource on the internet? I know. Crazy
      idea.

Google does not need more bonehead websites.

So, next time you hear of some google update, or
some google statement, remember, it's not targeted
at everybody. Just the people who think it's their
duty to make their site outsmart google.

You make sooooooooooooooo many misstatements, it's
not even worth going over them all. But here's a newsflash:
Google does not hate duplicate content. They don't hate
      links, paid or not.

I seriously think you should actually research what google
      says. It's pretty good reading.

Yup. Google is a massive failure. They keep raking in the
do-re-me, and bing, yahoo, etc. keep on taking a nose dive.

Yup! Toast the success of MS! They have lost billions online
      and continue to do so.

How about ranting about how MS ran yahoo into a graveyard?
Nope. Nary a word. But google? Oh those meanies! Those idiots!
They have no idea how to run a successful company!

Although I completely agree with most of what you said I dont think his point was that google owes him something. i think his point was google is a fraud. If he is calling out google for hypocrisy then it is a topic of discussion.

BTW I think yahoo ran itself into the ground and bing came along and offered a bailout? am i mistaken in that? Also isnt bing grabbing marketshare

Thank You. I do not care if Google likes me or not. I do not care if Google like my business or not. What is incredible is that you have a big company like Google saying one thing and doing the other.

Google says that buying links to manipulate SERP is bad for the users experience. Did you forgot when Google paid for links and blog reviews on the Google Japan. If you look at the FriendFeed details, you will see Matt first said, "Google.co.jp PageRank is now ~5 instead of ~9. I expect that to remain for a while." And then when he was questioned if this was a paid link penalty, he said "yes." You said that Google does not hate paid links they why they penalize themselves after this embarrassing moment? More recently Google paid bloggers for links and promote the Chrome web browser. Google assumed that the promotion would be conducted in a manner that was consistent with its own quality guidelines. However, the marketing campaign violated Google's own rules when it paid bloggers to post "reviews" of the web browser and those payments resulted in at least one link that passed PageRank to the browser's website and low quality content. OHHHH poor Google they are so naive that they never new about this little marketing and paid links.

Sorry to say, but you're missing the point.
A webmaster is not guilty until proven guilty. Google doesn't care and it's up to you to prove your innocence.
Their are websites getting deindexed by people who are using negative seo.

Very good point! The problem is on monopolistic activity. That is why the FTC and European Union is taking a close look into the companies activity. Since their ultimate purpose is to produce and get profits, Is Google willing to create a market that is not fair and penalize sites with the ultimate purpose of getting clients into their advertisement network? Microsoft and many other companies had similar problems in the past. Nobody knows how it operates and I agree it should be a trade secret for the company but the level in which you affect webmasters which ultimately feeds your algorithm and ranking must be treated fairly.

I have mixed feelings about this honestly. I have no love for google as I think they are a very phoney and deceptive company but at the same time govt involvement is not usually a good thing.

Well, actually I do. I prefer to use Yahoo for searching. Until I started building websites, I'd never used Google for search. I've had the same Yahoo email address for 10 years. LOL, back then I also thought that Yahoo was bigger than Google. Until I started reading these boards, I didn't know that Google ran the internet. I only use Google search to check on my own websites. For everything else, I use Yahoo.

      1. Quick Search - Scraped content

See Aaron Wall for more in this topic!

      3. Fast - I agree on it!

The real problem has been that instead on engaging webmasters into the discussion of the problem they just take steps that are not paying divideds back. Google keeps having more problems as they continue to move forward. The FTC's Google antitrust probe is to expand to include a review of Google+ integration in the search results. "Things keep happening where you can't even trust [Google's] word. I don't think they were ever not evil." - Danny Sullivan said.

Hope you the best on your marketing efforts!

IMers are a sub culture and a lot of that sub culture spend their time trying to use Google, you might say fool Google in order to make money.

Regular web users are generally very happy with Google sense it does what they want. Some of Google's efforts are geared toward making sure that Google users find what they want. Of course some of Google's efforts are to make money directly as well.

The best thing to do is talk to Google in the same way that they talk to you. Whenever I receive those random unnatural links messages I have a short message that I send back to them.

    Goes something like this.

    ---

I have no control over who links to my sites. Please send the message to the sites linking to me so that they remove the links that they created which you consider unnatural.

    --

The sites that I did this for have not received any penalties or drops in the rankings... lol.

It is what it is with Google and as long as they're worth it I'm riding the wave. Once someone else comes along then I switch over. It's not personal... only business.

Amazon got huge so part of my business is now located there.

    Same with Facebook...
