Should we be Building Naked Links Now as Well?

Hi,

I realize the important of building anchor text variants as well as the main anchor text. However, I've been doing a lot of reading recently (in light of updates by Google) and it seems as though a lot of people are advocating to build a number of naked links as well..

is then when first starting out more so?
or for the whole period of the link building process?

Looking forward to some qualified opinion from SEO people out there on this one.

    The idea is for the links to be more natural. Take that however you like.

    Personally, I take that to mean that not all links will just me *link*my keyword here*link*. Some might be other related keywords, some might be naked.

    I don't do a lot of naked links but I do mix in a few because it does look more natural...
