Hey guys,

This has been a chaotic few month for SEO's, this week is no exception.

There's a ton of talk revolving around the concept of Negative SEO, especially what happened to Dan Thies.

Some of the Negative SEO talk is true, but it's getting blown out of proportion. This isn't a game changer and i'll be laying out the facts and squashing the rumors.

I will be going over the Negative SEO "case studies", what really happened to Dan Thies, and what Google is (probably) going to do to patch any exploits. We can also discuss any questions you all have about Negative SEO.

    Thanks for everyone who showed up! I had a great time and I think we covered some great info: Here's a link to the webinar for all those who missed it. The talking starts (and my heavy breathing stops) at 3 minutes in: Justin.tv - nkneuper - Broadcasting LIVE on Justin.tv.

    Cliffnotes:

    1. Negative SEO has nothing to due with building backlinks, it has everything to do with removing backlinks.

    2. Dan Thies' site lost ranking due to a short-term exploit in Google's Blog De-indexing's. This method is really not repeatable, so nothing to be worried about.

    3. Negative SEO's case study on his negative SEO is legit, but it's not easy to do at all. It takes a lot of time, effort, and money and isn't guaranteed to work. Props to him for the balls to pull this off and post about it. This isn't going to happen frequently, don't lose sleep over it.

    4. It's likely Google will reduce "link loss" penalties/sandbox effects. Neutralize, Not Penalize!
