Unnatural linkbuilding message

Hello,

I know it has been discussed many times here, but 2 of my sites got this message 2 days ago. However, both of the sites have now better rankings than ever before and they I haven't dropped (yet).

What should I have to do now? Wait.. or change my backlinking profile or what?

    I think the penalty comes later. I've heard it can happen up to 6 weeks after receiving the notice.

    I've also read some posts that suggest the penalty may not ever come and that the notice is just a scare tactic from Google. Some people have said not to respond to it or it will make your situation worse.

    Is this really a "penalty notice" or "impending rank drop" notice as much as people make it out to be? Could it simply be Google telling you to remove any crappy backlinks before they get de-valued automatically by their algorithm?
