Hi Guys,

When looking at on page optimization SEO so the googlebot and others can follow your site structure is there any difference in having a menu heading with drop down categories on the home page or having the categories permanently on the left hand side of the home page?

Cheers
Arturo

I have mine in the header, the sidebar and the footer. You want to make it as easy as possible for customers to navigate through your website - no matter where they are on the page.

As far as Google goes, it doesn't really matter. I would suggest submitting a sitemap via Google's Webmaster Tools - just so that you know all of your pages are being indexed and crawled by them.

More important, is to make sure that your keywords show up in your title tag as well as your header tags. Although some disagree, my testing has shown that having your keywords in the meta description tag (along with one or two LSI keywords) is also a big plus. Don't bother with meta keyword tags; though, they are worthless.

yes, you have to put your targeting keywords in the meta tags and also in the content of your website which actually guides Google what the page is about.
