Okay, I have a website with whose keyword is the exact name of the search. At the beginning since 3 days of my first article I was in page 2! Now, however, since I updated my theme and made the article for my website my homepage using wordpress page and making it homepage. Well, evidently google must have not like that I did that and must of thought I was copying or not new content. And downvoted me to oblivion in my rank. My page for wordpress is on the homepage which might messed up google. It was orginally one post. What should I do? Is the article I used not good anymore? The reason I did this is to build up PLR on that article as of now there are over 10 sites with article but ever since I added that page my rank has plumbed to the ground. Should I recreate a different static homepage and build PLR or is that article dead now? Please help any advice would be useful.

Google gives so much precedence to existing and established sites there could be a million factors why you aren't ranking as high anymore. It could have just been a fluke in the first place you were even there. Getting decent traffic from rankings on Google as extremely difficult and I would argue the long tail traffic is better than getting links to a specific page. It can take many years to reach any sort of relevant ranking on Google.

    Seeksuccess said it all.

My business model currently revolves around google rankings, and despite having large websites that are over 2 years old, I still feel as though I am treading on thin ice. You must never rely solely on Google for your income! I am currently looking into other ways of getting traffic, and have recently purchase a subscription for the Directory of Ezines.

If you want to stick to Google however, or if you want to have at least part of your traffic rely on Google SEO, then know that Google now generally favours large websites over smaller ones. In my experience (and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone), small websites with one or two articles/pages don't rank on Google as well as they used to. Large authority well siloed websites with unique content are the way forward from now on.

The OP is making a lot of false assumptions about Google.

The reason the ranking changed was NOT because "Google doesn't like me" or "I got screwed from Google".

It's because - the site is new and has very little content.

When Google first finds a new site it often puts it articifically high in the results to see if it's what people want.

Then it drops it back down to where it belongs.

What the OP experience is nothing more than the normal behaviour of Google with a new site.

There's NOTHING strange going on and no special penalties or actions from Google because the page changed or the content is not ok.
    Signature

    nothing to see here.
