[Solved] How Many Tags for a YouTube Video?

Hi,

I've got a number of videos on youtube all with around 10 keyword tags per video. All of the tags are definitely relevant to the video and I include keywords that are common and relate to the playlist (4 out of the 10 keywords).

I've heard some people say recently though it's better to go after maybe just one main tag?

What are your thoughts as I was wanting to do maybe do some experimenting?

However, seems like a double edged sword...because if you have more related tags your videos can also show up as related..

    Choose some good tags for your video. Quality of tags are more important than quantity. I prefer to use 3 to 7 tags for my videos.

      Just choose the tags which are relevant to your video which you are going to upload in your channel. Don't put excessive tags because doing such as you are spamming.

    You really cannot have too many you can only put about 30 or 40
    If u put as many as u think u need it will Cut it if there are too many so watch out!

    You can use 5-6 relevant tags, don't go for too much choose keywords according to your video

    Title = Has The Main Keyword in it.
    Description = Go After the Main Keyword and another Keyword
    Tags = Main keyword FIRST, Then put as many tags in as possible - it's stupid not too.

    Also, in the description after you have written it, write *Ignore Tags* and then under that, put in a load more keywords like this :

    *Ignore Tags*
    Make money
    how to make money
    make money easily
    make money blogging
    etc
    etc

    I do this with all the videos, I end up getting a lot of traffic from google and the related youtube video section.

    Also submit to social bookmarking sites, most of my videos have got about 15,000 views from social bookmarking alone.

    Also after a while, check the analytics of the video are see your highest traffic source and if you can try to get even more from it

      can you explain why the *ignore tags* in the description works, this is interesting to me.

    Use as many as it goes with your video. The tag limit is 500 characters.

    no html allowed in description, so no anchor text worries (?)

    but what if your link in the description points to example..com / keyword

    will this help you rank vids for your keyword or does it not matter

    title, tags, keyword in descriptions, link, views, likes, comments, shares

    what really IS most important here to google/youtube????
