200-300 Unique visitors but almost no clicks/adsense money?

Hi,

I'm not sure what's going on but my health-related site has 200-300 visitors every day since the beginning of April (this month). The problem? I've only earned $5 through Amazon affiliate and a couple bucks with adsense. Am I doing something wrong? My ad placement seems to be right. I have a long banner on the side. Some text links are placed at the top near my main menu bar. I have 20-30 pages of original content. What else can I do?

Or am I rushing things? Do I wait a couple days until I see my earnings?

Thanks. I'm just trying to make sure I'm doing this whole marketing thing right.

You're allowed three google ads per page. Take advantage as long as they don't make the website look tacky. After a while, and after you have been adding content, the ads eventually become more geared toward what your website is about and your income will increase. Just keep cranking out content and building quality backlinks.

It sounds like the 300 visitors on your website are spread out over many pages and are not targeted to a specific keyword. I may be wrong but 300 visitors will definitely make you more cash than what you're getting if they were all targeted. Am I right?

Well these sorts of numbers should most definitely be seeing a better return, no question!

Personally, I don't try and monetize my sites with more than one method. it's either adsense, affiliate product or amazon but never all indeed 2.

I can only think that your content doesn't provide a great user experience and that your bounce rates are also poor?

Here are some references about google add placement, you should take a look at, might at least help you decide whether it's to blame or not

Well, today I got 272 visitors. And again, only made $0.19. I have no clue what is going on but it could possibly be the "bounce rate"? I'm not sure what that is. I'm still a newbie to all this. What can I do to correct it?

I also have the same feeling, even have many unique visitors. This doesn't means PPC will generate alots of $$$. I would suggest to use other methods such as building up email listing and affiliate product.

Hope my above suggestion help some beginner who would like to earn more rather than PPC.

        Enjoy ^o^

I had a similar problem. I very few adsense clicks. I added a products widget from Amazon with the products I recommended for that particular health problem. Within about 12 hours I had a $5 Amazon commission!

Some websites do really well with Amazon. I use a skyscraper widget where the products are rotated around.

People want an easy solution, the widget makes it hard to ignore.

Yeah, so far, 58 people have clicked on my Amazon widget with 4 of them actually ordering something.

Adsense isn't working for me. Well, at least, not yet.

Should I just use Amazon widgets? I'm also writing more unique content to my site. These people are coming by various keywords scattered throughout my site, not just my main one.

Since I'm new, I'd just like to have a clear idea of what I should be earning. How much should a site with 200-300 visitors a day be earning? If SEO'd / marketed correctly and all that.

        Thanks. Would appreciate any help.

Hmmmm, are the adsense ads related to the keyword you are ranking for? If so you should have a good CTR, so just do some testing on where to place the ads. But if the ads are not related it seems your visitors are not likely to click those ads. So try to monetize it only with amazon, add some some text links with your affiliate links. Think of text links that your visitors would likely to click on those. Like a preview customer ratings on a product, then text link would be like read the full review? I've read it somewhere before, hope it would help you.

Ohhh nearly forgot to mention, if you go with amazon, don't take out the google ads. It would help you rank. LOL, one of my site got beaten by an adsense site with little content. [ I'm not saying that my contents are the best, but it is just way to much better than the higher ranking sites, GREAT PANDA UPDATE ]...

Hey, I was thinking on selling some ad space. Do you guys think it would be wise to do that with 200-300 visitors? I'm thinking about doing that so that I can get paid monthly.

Do you guys know any website that helps sell ad space on your website?

Since when was 'a couple bucks with adsense' bad? That actually sounds pretty good, considering that most adsense users probably make much less (a few cents a month would be more typical).

My account has made less than $10 total via adsense since August 2010, despite the site getting anywhere from dozens to a few hundred unique visitors a day.

Based on my experience and anecdotes (e.g. accounts getting terminated if anyone actually makes any decent money from adsense ...) adsense shouldn't really be counted on as a gold miner, but with those figures you mentioned, you're definitely not doing bad, relatively speaking.
