Haven't seen this discussed yet, but if you have logged into GAKT recently, you would have noticed the message saying that Google is "improving" exact match and phrase match.

When people search for your products or services, they probably misspell a word every so often. In mid-May, we're making improvements to our exact and phrase matching options so your ad will be eligible to show when people search for close variants - yes, that includes misspellings - of your keywords. In addition to misspellings, other close variants include singular and plural forms, acronyms, stemmings (such as floor and flooring), abbreviations and accents.
Potentially this will be a good thing from a keyword research point of view as the exact match figures will include all the variant searches that currently equate to the same search results.

Opinions?

This looks like it would actually increase the total possible traffic you might be eligible to display for on an exact match.

It is also going to piss off the guys that do there exact matches as misspelled KW's. There is one guy I know who has the misspelled word where it's misspelled more than spelled correctly and he's #1 with nearly no links because there's no comp.

    Hmm.. We shall see.
