POF - Anybody banking with it?

It's been a frustrating past couple of months with PlentyOfFish advertising. I had a 2 week spell at the end of March, where I made 3x my investment. I thought I had cracked it after all the testing I had done.

With the exact same campaign, and exact same sales funnel, I cannot make a sale to save my life. It's even more annoying when your campaigns start off really well then it goes downhill the longer it goes on.

This morning after around 8,000 impressions I think it was, I had a 0.300%+ CTR. I check again a minute ago, and it's now 0.072%.

I'm determined not to give up on this traffic source, because as I said, there was a period where I made a decent ROI. It would be nice to hear success stories to keep the motivation up!

      Hey, thanks for replying.

What do you mean by stale and limited lifespan? How often should you change your ad?

There's usally an attrition rate on pof for click throughs (although it's not just pof). If you're targetting a particular demographic and using the default filter whereby your ad can be displayed 'x' number of times per session (typical is 3) then there will come a point where your prospects have seen your add multiple times and become 'blind' to it.

There's a range of things you can do to try and extend the longevity of a campaign (rotating ads, switching up display times or days per week) although that can also mess with your CTR and conversions. It's quite the art, one I'm still working at being competant at. Finch's premium posts are still a good resource for tips in this regard, and the pof blog has some good info on it if you haven't already been there.
