Hello Esteemed Warrior Members,

Please accept my heartiest wishes for the day and I hope that you are in jovial state of your mind.

I have a simple question, not to hard to solve for an experienced SEO professional.

As the heading says, Is Off Page Link Building Effective Without Having a Proper On Page Optimization?

I am in a doubt about this as one of my client is not allowing me to do on page SEO on his website and it seems to be not configured properly for the desirable end results.

My question is as simple as that, can I rank some keywords that he gave me by working off page as they are related to the website.

The niche is eating disorders and addiction. Two of the keywords are highly competitive.

Can anyone tell me what time duration should I quote to my client?

I have been doing SEO since last 8-10 months and have ranked medium and low competition keywords but I am not sure about this one?

Someone please help. It would be highly appreciated.

TIA

yes it is more important to optimize site onpage and offpage, for ex: if your client gives you keyword that is no any where used in site meta, description h1 etc.. so how can google detect those keywords in your site to show on?

    Hi Vikram,
For me off-page seo is more important than on-page but you cannot expect to rank high if google cannot find any relevance of the page to the desired search term that your client wants to rank. But anyway I suppose that he already uses relevant keywords in his page so there will be no problem but if he doesn't and don't want to get any advice from you, you should just stay away from him...

Absolutely agreed with kochtgr, Moreover It's difficult to say your timeline for SEO. But most of the clients don't try to understand this fact. So SEO Specialist has to be more calculative in ranking a keyword within a timeframe. It's the hardest part for a SEO, I guess.

I was at an industry cnference just over a week ago. The very first event was a Q and A between the audience and the search engines. Representatives of Google and Microsoft/Bing were taking questions from us and your exact question was asked.

Google's response was that their alorythm takes into consideration 200 factors when chosing how to rank websites with linking only being a couple of said factors.

That being said, it's coming from Google, so although true to an extent, there's probably more to it.

At the end of the day, you woouldn't create an unoptimised website anyway.

Offpage optimization is still beneficial even if you don't have strong onpage optimization. Remember that a weight loss site can also rank for a get your ex back keyword. A no content site can rank high on search engine

thank you guys for your support.

I didn't checked back this threat as I was expecting a notification from WF but I think there is some thing wrong in my settings.

    For the time duration:
As for this project, we were on the 450th place on google,
now with in a month's time we are under 100 for most of the keywords.
