    If you can add hundreds per day constantly for about 3 months minumum then i dont see a problem with it. Personally i am taking on a task of adding 1 new page per day and linking back to that page with various websites. I will be doing this for 90 days and i will have over 100 pages. If you have the time to keep adding hundreds a day then go for it

    Giving the impression of a regularly updated site over a number of months will be better for SEO than one huge content bomb at the start.

      I'd say a handful up front (not hundreds though) and then gradually. This way you always have content ready to add never have to play catch up with yourself...

    I would advise you to update content slowly... This gives you an opportunity to present fresh content on short periods. It good for both users and search engines as well.
