google unnatural links, how to find , evaluate links

Like many i got the unnatural links notice from google and two of my sites got ripped to bits in the rankings. I was using BMR but ranking fell by far below what they where to me using buildmyrank and obviously now the links from BMR are no longer showing and have been removed

Thing is i have 15,000 and 12,000 backlinks for both site, with quite a large number of groups of links coming from the same sites. Upon shifting through some of these links in the excel file obtained from webmasters, there is a great number of links, listed on URL's that dont exist!!!

what I want to know is is there aprogram that will shift throught this csv / excell file to find broken links or links no longer there???? Also what is their a program that will report if the link is on a site with no contact page ETC

I think the issues have arisen from blog comments, which we have never looked to pursue but there does seem to be a number of them

    Bad luck...Many of my client's sites have knocked down... Tough times. Just needs to be patient and we will be able to find a way to get to the top again.

    not sure sitting it out will help this time around, if i've been penilised because i've lost to many links from BMR and other de-indexed sites in one fell swoop then maybe, but my SERP has been decreasing ever since panda rolled out, even though link count / lost links began to stablise some time back, if anyone is penilised for having bad unnatural links, wont google keep this ban untill your showing otherwise and if the time in the 'sin-bin' passes, i think the penalty will just auto renew
