Why So Many Adsense Accounts Are Being Banned...
- SEO |
This theory is interesting because it rubbishes the other theories out there (coupon sites, too many sites, EMD's, etc.)
Here's what's going on. This year we're in recession. This is because oil is > $100 a barrel - just like in '08. Sure, Apple are doing well. Some folk here are doing well. But people like Apple are only doing well because people like Nokia are going to the wall .
The man on the street has no money. I see this in the very low conversion rates I'm currently getting for my CPA offers.
Low conversion rates you ask? This is CRUCIAL because it's why people are being banned.
Most folk (especially the big names who have had accounts banned) are deliberately targeting $1+ click keywords. These are for big ticket items that folk don't really want to buy right now (or they'll shop around for). So you're getting big value clicks, but your AdWords advertisers aren't getting any sales.
So if my theory is right, then you need to:
1. Stop exclusively targeting big value keywords. This is giving your AdSense account an "un-natural" profile.
2. Don't just target "buyer" keywords. Target the big volume "worthless" keywords related to your niche.
3. Don't be too aggressive about ad placement (accidental clicks are terrible news for you - I managed to click one of my own ads when my mouse wheel slipped!).
4. Don't make small sites for large value keywords. If you're relying on 1 click a week and that click is invalid for some reason, then your account just got a major red flag.
5. Make sure you join CPA affiliate programmes of your major AdSense advertisers. If your CPA income for red widgets is way lower than your AdSense income for red widgets, then you need to be worried.
