Why Google Won't Stay How it is Right Now

Everyone's complaing about what happened to Google and Google aren't speaking out.

BUT there is one thing you all need to understand.

Google care about their searchers, otherwise they have no business.

Now in its current state it's useless..

TOTALLY useless.

You will not find what you are looking for.

Now here's the kicker...

There is no possible way Google will leave the SERPS like this.

I mean I can't even find what I'm looking for at all.

My guess is they've took off some filters to work on them and they will be back in a few days.

Take this for example:

wordpress movie sql - Google Search

One cannot find anything in that jungle and one NEVER will be happy with those kind of results.

There's still time to go for the few days stated by Matt Cutts.

And that time was a few days starting yesterday.

There is no end of Google or end of seo.. there is just a hiccup in changing the algorithm.

Soon it will be all back to normal and you can all come back here and cheer.

For now, stop whining about what's going on and focus on making your sites better and avoiding anything that Google have always said they don't like.

CHILL.

I kind of agree. Google seems to be all over the place right now for certain terms. This isn't uncommon though. If the past is any indication it will stabilize in the next few days.

Yep, it's definitely not a time to panic and go running around changing everything

The best panic move for any webmaster right now, if anybody is interested in making panic moves, is to increase site quality and add features and polish to your site - can't go wrong there really

A bad panic move would be to jump on a different bad link-building bandwagon right now

Agree adding valuable quality content and information is the way to go. If what Matt claims is true there will be readjustments in rankings soon.

In addition, don't forget there is the world's second search engine Youtube that we can leverage from to drive traffic.

And there are other search engine like Bing and Yahoo to optimize for in the interim

Yepper. De-optimize a few pages. Increase overall quality by improving load times and design. See if you move up.

Me neither. I'm a database guy and I know what SQL is, although this might be a different kind of sql. Maybe "sequel" since he mentions movie? Still, have no idea what the intent was.

I think it was Paul not long ago in this forum who said something like "you put garbage in, you get garbage out. Not Google's fault." and this definitely qualifies as GIGO. So no wonder he can't find what he wants and he's not happy.

Agreed. Even 'wordpress movie sequel' doesn't make sense. Is he looking for the second in the Wordpress movie trilogy, "Wordpress: The Return Of The Splogs"? I have no idea.

        Neither does Google!

        sql database dump.

I actually meant to put the other search in..

        'wordpress move database'

But it has improved since earlier.

Still: python hosting - Google Search

Youse don't need much evidence because you can all already see..

But I'm currently searching for a restaurant..

AND I don't even find any of these results at all relevant to my search nor enticing..

    https://www.google.com/search?q=mich...irefox-a&pws=0

    Google is USELESS right now.

And they ain't gonna leave it like that.

    EVEN worse: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&....0.CHgpsNkzKLs

Look at the top result.. completely irrelevant. Bah.

Google should concentrate on the quality of the search result to maintain its reputation and business position before it will be too late. They should improve the search relevancy but are going to the opposite side. That's bad.

Just searched for: used golf clubs

Results look pretty much dead on to me. Legit stores selling used golf clubs.

I wonder if some query's are jacked up and others are fine.

As much as some would like to point out how google screwed things up I still can find everything when I search on google, and quickly as well. I was able to find a list of python hosting providers in 5 seconds when searching for : python hosting. Second result is python wiki with a list. If I search for python hosting review everything seems ok also.

I agree that there are some sites that shouldn't be there but overall I don't find google any less reliable than before. For a user ( not IM, SEO guy, Webmaster, etc. ) nothing changed.
