I have been submitting tons of articles to ezine just for getting backlinks from Author Bio in a hope that EZA backlinks will improve my SERP ?
Do you people think getting backlinks from EZA improves SERP ?
I have also submitted unique quality content at Hubpages and Squidoo just to get backlinks, do it work to boost SERP ?
Your expert advice is much appreciated.

I have been trying this as well. I've got several great articles up so far, all original content, took me hours and hours to do the research and write them. They're great articles, informative, not just shilling. BUT the links don't seem to be helping me one single bit.

Skip Ezine and use various Web 2.0s to make quality blogs there. Make sure to link out to quality authority websites so it doesn't look spammy. Use videos and images as well.

Just on this, Google Knol is being discontinued in a couple of weeks. Also Squidoo took a hit in one of the google updates so not sure this is great advice.

Yep - Web 2.0 properties all the way. Use the link wheel/link pyramid strategy in order to achieve the best out of the sites. It may take time, but when it comes to SERP's, my experiences tell me that it is worth it.

Ezine backlinks could help also. Web 2.0 properties could help either. But if you are focusing to get backlinks only from those kinds of sites, you won't get much better results.

Web 2.0 properties and top article directories require contents to enable authors to get backlinks. right? How about making it viral? How? Forget too much of the technical aspects when it comes to writing and focus to write contents for real users.

Provide what they need, satisfy them, and you will surely get tons of links from those written contents through viral sharing.

You have to build links with web2.0 sites through blog commenting.
