Read about this earlier yesterday, definitely something I plan to continue monitoring. Google has been caught in some questionable practices before, so it will be interesting to see what pans out.

Perhaps the letter of the law, but not the spirit. On the internet "relevance" is like a utility, and Google acts very much like a government. It is necessary to the smooth existence of any web site. In the brick and mortar world no government utility can offer better service to its own employees or other services. Google does this all the time.

Some day the law will catch up, and then Googe will have to change almost everything it does.

It would be wrong to force Bing to show Google products, works both ways.

I don't care what Google does with their business, but what I find ignorant on part of the FTC is, a large business like Google can't remove competition from their own site (Google SERPs), but a small business like most of the people run here on WF can remove competition from our sites.

That's double standards IMO, which is wrong.

I'm sure Bing went crying to the Gov.

Nah, FTC have been "investigating" Google for years, nothing new here (I believe).

Just one thing though - once a company or individual reaches a certain point at which they can impact lives of thousands if not millions of other people/companies - they take on "extra responsibility" by default. That's just how things are and it does make perfect sense to me. We see this everywhere around us.

I know, they've been after G for different things & like you said the bigger you get the more they try to get in your business.
