Has anyone already submitted google feedback form for penguin update?

It`s located at:

https://docs.google.com/a/google.com...bkE6MQ&ndplr=1

Not sure it will do any good but that`s one option to get yor site back...

I feel like they'll look at most submissions there. Then they'll examine the website. Then they'll high-five each other and say "We got that one right!"

That`s highly possible. My trust to google is not too high right now.
Diving from $200-300+ /day to $30/ day kinda sucks...thanks google...

I guess we just have to being it all over again and build new sites like crazy and see what happens...

I've heard some experts say that they are very unlikely to change your site's status from this form submission. I am not sure anyone really knows but I think they probably just put it out there to make it appear as if they give a damn!

My site went from $1000/month to zero. I am confident it will make zero over the next 3 weeks because I am on page 33 now (was on page one).

I went over my site with a fine tooth comb yesterday to see if it had "too many keywords" or would be considered spam in any way but, no, it's content rich and a great informative site. I've had others look at it and tell me that content-wise it's great (design wise kind of outdated but I don't mind that, I'm not selling a sexy product and many of my visitors are older).

The SEO experts swear this update is a FILTER, not like Panda, and that it is set to filter only things like too many keywords and other spammy on-site SEO. This is what I would like to know: WHAT is Penguin filtering, exactly, that my site got caught up in its filter? If anyone has any ideas please let me know here or via PM.

I also read saw a youtube video of an SEO expert who says that there were 2 changes:

One was on the 19th and was I believe a Panda 3.5(?) update that had to do with backlinking schemes again

And the other was of course the Penguin filter on the 24th.

So if you look at your site's stats and you see a big drop off around the 22nd - 3 days after the update on the 19th - then you were hit by Panda and you probably have too many dicey backlinks. But if you were hit on the 24th or 25th you were hit by the Penguin FILTER which goes into effect immediately, not after a few days like with the Panda updates.

So I looked at my site and my traffic went from 70-90 per day the week before the 24th, to 10 visitors on the 25th, to 2-3 visitors now that my page was de-ranked to page 30.

This is what I cannot understand because my site is NOT spammy, it's well written by an expert writer on the subject at hand (me). But I did have some dicey links via a WSO article network link scheme. So I can't understand why it appears I was NOT hit by Panda but rather was hit exactly on the 24th by Penguin which is supposed to NOT be related to links.

Anyway, I would not submit my site to Google unless I heard that a large majority of people were getting good results with that. So I thank you for this thread, maybe it will reveal results - good and bad.

        I hope that:

        A) Google loses the suit that's been filed against them over this; it's actually an FTC complaint as I understand it (I doubt they'll lose though.)
        B) Google gets a very bad reputation from this (This is already happening and I'm sure their marketing team is going crazy right now!)
        C) Google loses searches to Yahoo, Bing and DuckDuckGo, Dogpile, etc. (I've already stopped using Google except to check my rankings.)

I leave you with this portrait of Matt Cutts, Google's "distinguished engineer":

You've probably seen this by now, but here's a funny youtube about the Penguin filter update in case someone hasn't seen it:

I thought it was the other way around? I thought Panda was related to quality of content and Penguin was to do with backlinking. Penguin is related to over optimization, but it sounds like it's more to do with off page SEO than on page.

This update doesn't make any sense because I have a few sites which were not negatively affected by the Penguin, but they use the same on page and off page SEO as my affected sites.

Yep, that's what I think too. I've spent some time reading the Google Webmaster forum this week. There have been lots of posts where people want to know why their website has been hit.

The regulars who hang out on that forum are real mean! Sarcastic and snarky. I'm not sure if these are people who work for Google or not, but they're extremely harsh in their criticism. I noticed that they find severe fault with almost every site that's posted. All of the webmasters think that they've got a great and useful site and the regulars say it's a terrible, useless site.

I know that my content is very good, but I'm not sure about the rest of my site. I'm not real talented at making a pretty looking website. I just use a plain white Clickbump theme with a $5 Fiverr header.

So, I'd be afraid to fill out the penguin feedback form. Google would probably hollar like crazy if they saw my plain looking site! They'd probably write back telling me how ugly it is.

Yes I submitted it but I'm not sure it is a reconsideration request rather than just data gathering.
Anyway I did a reconsideration request through GWT as well just in case.

I've been using the feedback form to point out sites that have no business ranking where they are (i.e. empty blogs and the like). My sites haven't been negatively affected, so nothing to complain about.

Just figured I'd help with the cleanup.

we got slammed... all page 1-2 rankings are gone... literally disappeared from google... not even on page 10 or 20.

how the hell does that happen?

the search results are a mess.

One of the terms "___ ___ for men" actually was bringing back results with products for women!

I'm not filling that in. Why do you think I would waste my time pointing out bad search results for them?

I've dropped rankings on most of my sites and am losing money like many others but that doesn't matter to them. They certainly aren't going to hurry up and put me back where I think I belong and as far as I'm concerned it's their mess so they can clean it up themselves.

I agree, getting mad and outing others is not good, even if they have a crappier backlink profile than yours. As mentioned before that's the game they play, the psychological game and take advantage of everyone to their own benefit, well not me anymore - my search engine traffic is FB and Bing my display advetisments are Yahoo's media.net.

Google have done their damage, they have made their bed and now they can sleep in it! I hope they get a billion more splogs showing up all over the place and I'm glad their SE results are ****ed!

I don't know/care If that Google Doc. form is legit, If it is legit, didn't you guys learn anything from the Google Webmaster backlink message?

You want to keep ranking & at the same time you keep offering up unnecessary info. to the same people/bots that dropped you in the SERPs.

Better leave those messages/forms/whatever alone & deal with your own business.

If you learn anything, learn to diversify traffic, otherwise keep spinning your wheels each & every SERP update for the next 20 years. SERP traffic is good, but come on, create a backup plan for traffic.

Most of my sites were effected so id have to fill in the form lots of times because there is only 1 URL field on the feedback form.

Im just hoping that Google release a Penguin 1.1 update or something in the next few weeks after seeing how awful the SERPs are. I haven't even bought any backlinks or "keyword stuffed" so I don't know why I got effected badly by the Penguin.

They say Penguin targets Webspam, what the heck is that? Why are blogspot blogs with zero original content now ranking in 1st slot for keywords yet sites with original useful content are placed lower down?

Yes, I have just submitted. The weird thing that I have been affected for only one keyword. Yet, it is the most important one for me.
