Strange thing after the last Google Updates

I have an website that is 10 month old. I was targeting around 20-25 keywords at the moment it was struck by the Google Updates.
I lost ranks for all of them except one, usually they can be found after the page 10 of Google's search.
But 1 keyword that remained still after this updates it is also the exact match word as the domain. It ranks #4.
I don't understand why wasnt all the keywords "flushed away".
For link building this website I used a article and blog network(spinned articles), some senuke small blasts (bookmarks,web 20 profiles,social network) just to help me diversify my type of backlinks and sources, and also some pyramids and a few blog comments.
Anchors were very diversified.
Its not that I am very surprised that it was strucked by this update, but why that specific keyword remained unstrucked?
