Internal pages ranking but not main site?

Hey WF!

I have a new Amazon affiliate site that I'm working on. It's a hot niche with 33K competing sites and 4700 Exact searches a month. The site is "www.productreview.com". My internal pages like About, Privacy have been indexed but I can't see the homepage (it's not in the top 100 anyway). What do I do? Should I still continue to add unique content, reviews etc and backlink or wait a few days for the Penguin update to settle down?

Thanks.

It doesn't have much to do with the Penguin update, sometimes it just happesn and sometimes tag pages rank higher intially but it always settles after some time. Mostly within 2 weeks.

So do I just carry on as normal? Keep updating content etc? I didn't think it was Penguin related to be honest. I was just curious because I have noticed strange behaviour whilst trying to index my sites. In 2011 I would see them indexed within 24 hours. Now it's taking a few days...

        Hello,

Yes, continue what you are doing. Keep updating content and continue building links. Make sure to vary your anchor text, keep your link types diverse and make sure to include some sort of social type backlinks like tweets, google +1's etc.

Indeed just continue with what you were doing, it's all good.

At least the random link building advice is getting better! Also add branded links and straight through URL links.
