Article marketing still works, although it MAY take some time to see any amount of traffic. This is not a "write one and they will come" thing though.
Article marketing is a technique like anything else, and requires work.

Lets say that you can use the power of the social media and article marketing for traffic. The search engines is the end of everything although of course its easier to do it that way.

Forum and blog commenting might or might not work as it is often that their links are no follow. However it can still deliver traffic but might not benefit your site ranking just in case you are still interested with seo.

I believe all forum allow signature no matter is internet marketing forum or non internet marketing forum.
Why not do try those web hosting forum or buy and sell forum ? Signature might not the main concern while it actually easily to find , just that dofollow or no follow link is more hard to find.

Social bookmarks and Article posting are both good option in this case ..
But i think both are time consuming ..

Why don't you get youtube channel and look for do follow channels, I've done this it's not that hard.

Quality content, updated content, originality, back-links, keywords with less competition, article writing, directory submission, blog commenting and posting, social marketting.

Combining Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube can do wonders for you. Plus, it's so easy to link all of them to your website. All three sites encourages some sort of "following". Take some time in your day to build fans, followers, and subscribers in all three of them. When they are fully matured, YOU'LL HAVE THE POWER TO DIRECT THEM WHEREVER YOU WANT THEM TO!

Aside from that, make sure you measure your efforts, so you know where to invest your time/money.

Its pointless doing all of this "stuff" without knowing whats actually working.

If you don't want to do SEO yourself, try using services like socialmokee.com/outsource in Fiverr.com or go for paid traffic methods. Most of the forums allow signature links, but if your site is related to IM, then non IM forums will not be of great help. Relevancy is now important not only to Google but more to humans too! To answer the question you stated, to get more traffic without SEO, create content that visitors really like, and you will get more traffic, it is as simple as that. If you are not sure what your visitors really want, ASK them!

As for off-page-SEO, it's now more important than ever (since the Penguin update), to make it look as natural as possible. This means a wide range of DIFFERENT types of backlinking, and much of the backlinking is better off applied to a web2.0 property then linking THAT to your main page, especially if your site is new.

Also, creating a 'good' product and offer it free. Then buy solo ads, and once the numbers are up a little do a 'few' ad swaps.

You can choose to add an OTO and offer either 50% or 100% to affiliates. This will attract more affiliates and help persuade them to mail your offer to their lists which could get you a ton of opt-ins and also make you / the affiliate money.

You can also charge a low fee such as $7 - $17 for the front end product and offer 100% commissions to affiliates. This way you will build a list of 'buyers'.

Lots of ways, and lots of different things to try out to see which gives you the best results.

If you have a converting OTO that earns 'you' money then it could potentionally pay for your 'next' solo ad. Then rinse and repeat!

Often it depends on your niche. If you're an affiliate marketer pushing hard products, it's tough to use social media unless you get creative. I mean, how many Twitter and Facebook groups will there be about golf shoes?

But if you really think about it, you can probably come up with all kinds of related ideas where people who are into __________ are also into golf shoes. Go to a general golf forum. Start a twitter account about golf tips. Make some YouTube videos about how to putt better.

Get outside the box and do that kind of associative thinking and you'll probably hit pay dirt. But it takes hard work to build a steady flow of traffic, so make sure the payoff is worth it. Don't go into niches if you're into aff. marketing where you end up making a tiny commission or you'll never feel like the payoff is worth the effort and time.

Blog commenting - yes, but only manual and you need to provide value with your comments. Nobody wants spammy-looking comments on their blogs - such comments usually don't get approved at all. Blog commenting can be done both for SEO purposes and for driving direct traffic. If you are after the latter, try to make your comments on newly-created posts, so that your links appear up top the page.

Video marketing - You can use Animoto to crank out hundreds of videos targeting different keywords and blast them to Youtube and the other video-sharing sites with an video submission automated tool, such as HeySpread. This is a good method of getting traffic, but it depends on your niche, as well. If you are doing CPA marketing and promoting freebie offers, this can work wonders, as the traffic hanging out on Youtube usually isn't interested in purchasing anything.

Forum marketing - Another bum marketing method and works well, provided you provide value as much as you can. Just join forums within your niche and start posting around a little - start slow and once you get yourself credibility and authority, you can submit your link to your signature and post some more. You could try sharing the stuff on your website to your friends, and maybe they'll be the ones who will be doing the off-page optimization themselves. There are tons of ways you can spread your links without going through bookmarking and all of those. Social media is a good choice; at least I think that's a comfortable sharing environment for you.

Difficult to get high traffic volume without SEO efforts otherwise you have to opt paid services that would be costly for you.
