Anybody got a boost in Search rankings recently?

I see a lot of people complaining that their google traffic dropped recently. If a lot of sites are dropping in traffic then naturally some people should have seen a nice boost in traffic.

But I see no one reporting an increase in traffic. They are probably keeping quiet.

If anyone got a boost in rankings and search traffic, just post here. It may motivate some people who are looking to establish blogs for the first time.

If your content was solid and did careful backlinking then you probably saw an increase with the Penguin Update.

My money site dropped 20+ places in the serps.
But ironically, all of my sites where I had submitted articles to (eg - ezinearticles, articlesbase, isnare, etc.) are all ranking HIGHER than my actual money site (not that my article sites are on page 1 either).

      Weird.

If Panda was meant to devalue these article directories, and Penguin was meant to devalue sites that were linked to by these article directories, then this means that the whole deck of cards is falling down and we need to rethink SEO.

My main site has been climbing for every KW almost on my system for a few weeks without me doing much. It is content rich and has very few links. I reckon the ones above me with EMD (I don't have KW in domain but it is a related phrase) and all the deliberately SEO articles (KW in title 3 times etc) have all been placed below me

I now have two top 10 rankings and another 12 KWs inside top 40

been great, seen steady rise in traffic too

Yep - I noticed significant boosts in my rankings for a couple of Affiliate Sites I built. In fact, this seems to be the case everytime I feel my rankings are going to drop

Guess the hard work of manual backlinking did pay off in the end

I have about a dozen websites that are all taking the #1-5 spots right now. Not just 1 or 2 or 3, but 1 through 5. I've got another 20-30 that are all ranked in the top 10, and a hundred or so ranked in the top 100.

I never used backlinks to build my sites though, I have a very different approach that Google rewards handsomely.

A program I have made that uses a special technique to soft-index my sites and give a... "favorable web-experience impression" towards search engines, among other things. I designed it with the future in mind, since I knew back links would eventually go the way of the dinosaur (WebRings anyone?) but didn't expect it to come in handy so soon.

Before, I was ranking sites within the top 100 every 2 days I ran it. But with the Penguin switch, I'm pretty sure I was spot on with what I was assuming their approach would be. The problem everyone is going to run into in the future is that everyone on the internet is known now. Throwing up backlinks with automated software (or professional posters) is just going to be automatically ignored now, and possibly get you blacklisted.

Instead, focus on what Google has repeatedly stated they like. Obviously, speed of your site is key, as is constant updates, domain name seniority, and content content content.

Do those and you'll rank. If that's not enough, wait another week and my software will be for sale.
